    On the Toyota forklift you should find a switch just under the accelerator pedal that cuts drive. Common problem, sticking switch or broken wire in the loom that goes to it. Give us a call at Leicestershire Forklifts next time your struggling, always here for advice.

    Just scrape off the coating with a Stanley knife first Chris, scrape a wire until you get a nice shiny copper, then get yourself some flux ( no clean is preferable for wiring as water washable will cause corrosion and another struggle) same with solder make sure it's no clean

  • @Blandy929
    @Blandy929 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Usually when the problems at the stalk you can sand the contacts but this isnt always a permanent fix.
    I believe the contact bridged out may have been part of the neutral start circuit.

    I learnt this little trick when soldering but I think its down to the copper having some sort of coating, It happens a lot with certain wires (headphones etc) but if you use a lighter on them before they should tin pretty well ;)

    Slightly going off topic, but in a lot of recent videos that you’ve done, you mention relays quite a lot. And when I was trying to figure out why my air con wasn’t working on my Honda Civic, a lot of guys said to pull the relay out and shake it, if it rattles then it’s no good. Mine was ok, the air con needed re-gassing, so can’t say if this is reliable, hopefully someone on here may know. Great video, and well done to you both for the good work!

    Hi Chris , I think you may have just bypassed some safety device on that forklift drive selector !🙈, maybe it has a switch under the seat or seatbelt switch that stops you selecting drive whilst off the vehicle! Might need investigating further 👍great videos by the way

    Hey Chris i dunno if you know but Lidl have some 20v tools in this week and one of them is a 20v soldering iron that runs off the Parkside 20v batteries and it's really good, I would recommend one, great for on site soldering without the need for a power source.

    And the little rubber thing with two wires going in to gearbox twist it about and it seemed to sort it.

    Are you serious or just a put on for views. Need some serious troubleshooting training. First need wiring schematic and VOM. Should be able to check voltage at seat and p brake switch then at trans solenoid. Not rocket science . Back up alarm possibly on separate circuit in control switch.

      @@Professional-struggler not really just don't enjoy guessing and patch repairs. As a retired Toyota, Cat, Clark you name it road service mechanic for 40 plus years nothing worse haveing to repair a machine that was " repaired " improperly . Makes it harder to troubleshoot. There are a lot of safety features built in to Toyota lift trucks and to override makes no sense you leave yourself open to legal problems if someone gets hurt. Believe me I've seen them . Stay safe .
