For someone not using a dedicated knife making 2x72 grinder your work really shows off how skilled you are. Your layout and hand file/finishing is extremely well done. Really nice work!

That looks like a really elegant kitchen knife I could see you make like a whole set of those in varying sizes and turn around and sell it as a complete kitchen knife set

I hate to say it but you are wrong. Forging is moving steel while it is in a hot state. Then after you forge molecules are all over the place, this is why you need to anneal steel before heat treatment. I go from annealed steel to heat treatment. Also, when you forge, you loose carbon.

4:01 in the video. Looks like a pretty substantial crack in that blade.
By the time I hand sanded it to a 2000 grid you would have seen it even better...but it's only a Dykem blue layout fluid.
