      The guy was so fuckkn dominant in snowboarding and it wasn’t just half pipe. What ever he focused on he was usually the best and having victory runs against people like Travis rice or Danny Kass.

    The fact that now, just a decade later, this run doesn't even come close to what a 100 rating score run would be today…. it's mind blowing!!
    Lots of progress.
    Pretty sure that in a few years we'll see bs-to-bs TripleCorks, or at least 2/3 Triples per run!
    Anyway, that Fs5 Stalefish is pure GOLD...not a hard trick, but the height and style make it for me an iconic trick.

      A todays Rider, can do triples even with 20y old equipment!
      It’s more the fact that tricks have evolved and limits were pushed behind.. Trust me!

      I remember playing Sean white snowboarding game for 100s of hours and the soundtrack for it was immaculate and the gameplay and mechanics were PERFECT. It felt like an open world version of SSX and I still wish I could relive that again to this day. Steep was great but the UI and menus and traveling just felt so disorganized to me I couldn’t ever stay into the game for longer than a month at a time

    I remember shaun talking about the double mc twist in an interview on how he basically forced the trick with barely any speed but still landed it. An old friend and rival of his, kevin pearce suffered a tbi from trying it and smashing down head first after over rotating the trick on december 31st, 2009.

      I met Kevin at the opening of his documentary. He was really chill, but I’m pretty sure him and Mr. White were done being friends.

    Ayumu Hirano hands down beat him in several comps that he shouldn't have won. Glad Ayumu took the torch that he deserved. Shaun has done a lot for the sport though.

    Y’all gotta watch The Crash Reel about Kevin Pearce. This guy was the goat over Shaun but had a HUGE accident making Shaun instantly the best. It’s an amazing documentary if you love snowboarding

    I still could never understand that ridiculously wide stance. It's just dumb. And this 100% should not have been a 100. His double cork he wasn't fully rotated. And he dragged a hand on a landing. Not a 100 at all. Just the judges giving it to him because it was him.

    This wasn’t a 100 back then and is a far cry from a 90 today. Hand draggin and lack of tweak n’ creak on the first hit is all I need to see.
    Was and always will be an over rated run.
    Also, -10 pts on steez for stance and pants.
    FOH. Period.

    Not a true 100 if he touched his hands. Watch travis pastranas double backflip NOT get a 100 then understand how perfect landings matter. He won, but it wasnt 100

      The thing is, they’re really not. It would be tough for this pipe run to replicated today. This was peak half pipe popularity and the levels haven’t been pushed as much as in park or backcountry.
