Personally I love this movie an am so glad you reacted to it. I am completely unilingual english but I love foreign movies. Another french film I enjoy is Un été en Provence with Jean Reno. a simple story about a family but really liked it.

This movie is a unknown gem in movie history.
With more the 19 millions places sold in France (making it the 2d best selling french movie in history) and 32 millions places around the world I wouldn’t say it’s an unknown gem…
It’s because of this movie Omar Sy career peaked in the international industry and had some roles in Hollywood.
It’s also this movie that hallowed him to be part of Lupin series on Netflix…
He currently settled in Los Angeles since 2012.

But since he's not known at all outside of France, they put "Freddy Mercury" in the subtitiles, even though his mustache doesn't match

..I watched this movie about 20 times..i love it! ..in 2014 i had a "small accident", and am paraplegic T2 since..this was first movie i watched after..in hospital..gave some perspective and hope..

Such a feel good movie
More people need to react to this movie ,it deserves it .
One of my favorite movie when I'm sad or just not in the mood. Glad you enjoy it as much as I did
I was never a big fan of this movie, but I saw it in theater and the crowd was extatic, I rarely heard so many people laughing and cheering at the same time.
Omar Sy was discovered for his humor through a small comedic show and already loved by French audience when the movie came out.
Cluzet is a rare breed of actor: he was already famous for a long time and decided, a decade before this movie came out, to only play in movies he was truly interested in. If he doesn't see the potential, he's not interested, that's why he's playing in various and strange small independant movies despite his huge fame, he's turning down block-busters.
The soundtrack of this movie is one of the best "in my opinion"

The first French movies that come to mind are several by Jacques Audiard. I liked Read My Lips (Sur mes lèvres) and The Beat That My Heart Skipped (De battre mon cœur s'est arrêté). And I really liked: A Prophet (Un prophète) and Rust and Bone (De rouille et d'os).
This may be a character trait of French cinema, but like The Intouchables, I feel these movies are more about the emotions than a suspenseful storyline. Or maybe that the suspense is about how relationships and love develop.
Love your “first time watching” reaction videos because we get to see if you like a new franchise or not.

This was SO much better than the American remake some years later. When he left the Hitler moustache when getting ready for his date, I don't know that I've ever laughed that hard!

if you like french movies.

Could you aldo react to "la haine"? It's about a group of youths which livw in a "ghetto" in paris. The movie is a bit depressing but has good messages and a nice storytelling to. If xou like french movies, i think you would like this movie too:)
One of our best ‘recent’ movies 🇫🇷 if you want another example of a great movie : Bienvenue chez les Ch’tis, and it’s mandatory to watch it with subtitles (no spoilers though 😉)

For my part, I love the French film "99 Francs",
it is a satire on the world of advertising, with Jean Dujardin in the main role
(1st French actor to have received an Oscar for the film "The artist ", which I also recommend).

In Europe it has been a success. And it is well known. I guess it won't take them long to make an american version, which I will never understand, as if the Americans were stupid and didn't understand the originals, like "Scent of a Woman" which is the version american of "Profumo di donna" I suppose totally unknown in America.At least our dear Emma sees the original, which is appreciated.

le remake américain "The Upside" a été complètement raté à cause du manque d'alchimie entre les acteurs et de certaines scènes enlevés de l'original.
Comme beaucoup de remake américain, ils sont souvent nul. le seul qui a réussi à faire un remake d'un film Français est James Cameron avec "True Lies" qui vient d'une comédie Française "la Totale"
