First smash con and now this, Light can't get anything going for him in this matchup

"Mr. Game & Watch in this game is a massive struggle. His best option is Up-B OoS which is, extremely quick, has set knockback, you can combo out of it, but the problem is that in Ultimate, you're blocking, you're losing. You don't win in this game by taking pressure for free, and alot of things can outrange the Up-B OoS anyway so it's not even that good. In reality his best option is actually useless half the time. They took out his old F-air, ... and replaced it with this terrible bomb drop. Takes a while to come out, and to make it's way to your opponent, so the other guy has like a year and a half to get out of the way, and it can be blocked, it can be rolled out of, but the worst part ... is that it has literally no priority at all. So if Mr. Game & Watch wants to hit you with his F-air, you smack him in the head with a quick move, and he just has to take it! And the bomb disappears! Really, there's no trade, not even a trade for that, that's terrible, it's absolutely a terrible move, I call the new G&W F-air a training mode move. ... The worst part is that it makes his edgeguarding terrible, he has no pressure or threatening move when he's facing you in the air, forcing him to always turn around, which is awkward and gives him a blind spot. So it just ruins a big portion of the character having that F-air. It also means in neutral he's always jumping backwards, which also limits his neutral game even more since he can't do things like standing grab if he constantly facing the opposite way, maybe he can't do a certain smash attack ... in general just moving backwards makes it so you're always, I wanna say moving away from the opponent, it makes it easier to lose stage control, and I think that's really damaging to his neutral. To make matters worse, he's incredibly light so he just dies early to everything. He has a lack of damage output as well, terrible limited options just because of the F-air, but at least he's got a consistent good recovery unlike Little Mac I guess."

I've seen Light take on bad match ups before but never switch. Maister made Light switch off Fox.

Well it’s basically impossible
To be fair with Fox your best bet is baiting it out but then he’s not guaranteed a punish at all, it’s just a hard time for Fox to get hits on G&W. Wolf deals a lot better, Light’s Wolf just isn’t quiiite good enough to beat Maister yet, probably needed a few more games to adapt.
The problem isn't the up B itself, it's the fact that Maister can sit in shield and up B if light touches his shield. If Maister sits in shield every time Light approaches, he can't do anything. Fox gets very little off grabs and has no kill throw, so as long as Maister just holds shield, Light can't kill him. All of Light's kills come from pressuring shields and poking with backairs, or getting Upsmashes after falling nairs. Holding shield with GnW and up B'ing out beats all of those options.
TL;DR Fox can't kill GnW if GnW shields whenever Fox approaches.

Fox loses to characters with good out of shield options, because he cant do much against a shield. Keep in mind that going for risky plays like a grab is even riskier for Fox because his disadvantage is so bad.

That OoP is just absurd. Not my favorite play style but it certainly has huge results. I play fox as well and it's really easy to overwhelm an opponent by throwing out a million hit boxes but characters like GnW with crazy OoP are real tough for fox. No dash attack is safe. Only nairs allowed to open up combos. Its a tough match up
It gets even worse when you're in disadvantage against G&W, both in stocks and neutral. When G&W puts you in disadvantage in the air, he juggles so hard. Fox fortunately has the tools of lightspeed fastfall and reflector, but Nair can snub both of those to an extent with a huge hitbox. Then when you're down in stocks, you have no choice but to approach and try to get something going, at which point G&W can just play safe and switch into counterplay.

I always thought G&W was sorta ruined in this game. Maister deff changed my mind.
Idk why so many people thought he was ruined in this game due to move changes, I’ve always seen these changes by giving him so much more control
G&W it's a special character, the move set are so different of anyone, because it's hard to defeat
