Firebirds Calder Cup 2024, Game 6 - Reaction

- The Firebirds unfortunately fall to the Hershey Bears in 6 in the Calder Cup Final. Here is my reaction to the condensed replay of the game and a few thoughts that I had.

There is a reason Shepard was the best goalie in the league this year. Also Bears were clutch in OT all season and in playoffs. CV had a great season but came up against a team that was a scoring machine this year.
Gotta say, very impressive for a team to go to the Finals in the first 2 years of their existence. GGs but lets go Bears

Dude, you need to come out to the Giant Center sometime. It’s incredible there every game plus one of the greatest amusement parks, Hershey Park is right there too

The energy seriously sounded great there all series long, love to see that even if it's at a rivals barn 😯
@@That_Kraken_Fanpg_Official- Gordie Howe had a quote, 'Everybody who is anybody in hockey has played in Hershey”. The Bears have been around so long (since 1938), they are deeply embedded in hockey culture in North America. I’d agree it’s worth a road trip to catch a game at Giant Center.

4 give aways lead to 4 goals for the bears. CV absolutely blew that game. It should have been 3-1 and a game seven 2 days later.

@@harrycgrace4504 That calder game was better than any NHL game or sporting event I've ever been to and ive been to a few very notable/remembered games. Insane crowd like always and I was more pumped watching that gwg goal in than I was when my NHL team won the Cup.
As a bears fan, u guys had a good season, but don’t be stupid, like your mascot, and don’t mock the bears roar and u wouldn’t have lost again. But u guys have a bright future in CV and even Seattle so good luck
Ik you know how Cleveland won in overtime in game 6 he mocked the roar and guess what happened we won then that dodo bird mocked it and we won Lol! Don’t mock the bears
I hope these 2 meet one more time next year. Hershey is already bringing back some big names, not sure about CV but this past 2 series have been some amazing hockey.

Not happening
The comment about Driedger on the first goal... Despite the numbers - 5 GA on 22 shots - this was a solid game from him in that I didn't see any soft goals against. He didn't steal the game by any means but I wouldn't put this loss on his shoulders.
Driedger was a disappointment in this series. He needed to step up his game to beat a deep Hershey Bears roster and he didn't do that unlike Joey Daccord did that last yr for CV and took them the distance to a game 7 OT.
@themasterzman1172 Yeah he definitely cost the Firebirds or the scoreboard in the other games. Daccord undoubtedly would've gotten them to the promised land. Driedger just didn't play at that level.

@@That_Kraken_Fanpg_Official Absolutely. I'll walk back my comment in the sense that the series isn't solely on Driedger - my apologies if that's how my last comment came across. A series loss doesn't rest on the shoulders of just one player.

Bears fan here, one thing thats was very funny was the way Fuego would trash talk our bears and yet every time he did that y'all lost. Like really trying to ruin "Hershey's" chocolate was dumb because it wasn't even made by hershey. Bears don't trash talk other teams.
Fuego sparks that rivalry a little too much sometimes 😅Still love him!

The funniest part was then randomly saying Shepard you suck just randomly.. it's like that's not how it works. After a goal yeah it makes sense but randomly they were just feeding Sheps.
The firebirds are a good hockey team.As a bears fan I was skeptical we would beat them this year especially being devastated on the back end,but thats hockey.
Hate to tell you but Driedger isn't better than Jet Greaves
