I don't care what anyone has to say, what makes LeBron the best is his longevity and dedication to the game. No one has ever done it for that long, literally. To put it in perspective, I was 7 years old when LeBron got drafted, I am now 27 years old!
One of the very few players who actually matched (even surpassed) the expectations and didn't succumb to the pressure. Hate him or love him, you gotta give props to what he's done to the modern game.
He didn't surpass the expectations. He was touted as "the next Jordan" when he was entering the league, not the "next Karl Malone", so six championships was going to be the standard by which he would be measured, but in 21 years he only won 4 rings (actually 3.5), amassed a loosing record in the finals and failed to build a dynasty, despite all the ring-chasing and super-team building. And he had multiple embarrassing moments when he succumbed to pressure, both in the NBA and with Team USA. But I get your point, if you compare him to Zion Williamson, he did, at least, play basketball.
@@anttiruotsalainen1565 I am talking about the fact that the expectation, as he was entering the league, was that he would become the next Jordan. But he didn't even come close to becoming that, either in terms of skill or accomplishments, which ultimately means that he did not match the expectations. What "he's done for the modern game" is to initiate the ring-chasing with super-teams era, normalize losing, preside over crumbling TV ratings and be part of the reason the anti-flopping rule was installed.
LeBron, at the start of your career I wasn’t a big fan. But as you grew into the league and matured, I couldn’t help but admire your work ethic, consistency, and domination on the game of basketball.
