I think a teardrop barb looks more like a raccoon than the raccoon tetra does. Both are beautiful. Oh the horror of a vacant spot in a shipping box...so sad when it could have been another fish. Thanks for the unboxing video.
I'd never seen raccoon tetras before and I'm sure the biologist who named them had never seen a raccoon before. Pretty fish, nonetheless. So many pretty fish.

I thought I clicked on some crummy political news video. This was a pleasant surprise and a fun video. My favorite part by far was from the peanut gallery, way to go Jenna!
Love dans fish. But think about all the plastic bags that were used to ship individual tetras which need to be in a big group to be happy. So yes the well-being of fish but do we recycle all the plastic???
Good point, and valid question. Plastic waste is a problem in so many industries, and while we might make our best efforts and due diligence to recycle, the reality is the vast majority of it gets rejected, and what does get legitimately recycled uses quite a bit of energy to do so. But yeah, that's 80 fish, plus 1 temp pack, all double bagged. Undeniably a lot of plastic.
