@@lauchlanstill6677 V6 and VR6 are two different things. From the mk4 (Jetta/Bora/Golf) onwards VW called it V6, that‘s why most people refer to the 24v as V(R)6.
man i miss my golf mk4 vr5 gti... okay they really are not powerful but the sound and feel of that engine makes up for it.

I've got a mercatobleu Bora v5 like that 1, I love it. I love the way it looks, goes and the way it sounds! Lowered and on 17s on the front and big 18s on the back. Great video, great sound👍

V5 and VR5 is completely different thing. V5 is I2 combined with I3 while VR5 is I5 but more compact.
We wouldn't say that you are completely wrong but in this instance vr5 also called v5 and staggered five is a reference to the VW group's AGZ/AQN/AZX engines derived from the VR6 family of engines. The VR in the name means that it used a really narrow "v" angle (15 degrees) therefore being able to have just one cylinder head instead of 2. While we do understand that by v5 you propably meant the motorcycle engines that were used in MotoGP your statement is wrong since they were made from the ground up as a "v" style engine to take full advantage of the MotoGP restrictions at the time . Since they weren't used in any (correct me if I'm wrong) production products the nameplate v5 automatically references to the VR5 engine. 👍
@@RaceFanaticsYT While it is kind of a V type engine, it also kind of isn't. VR5 doesn't sound like V5 though. VR5 sounds more like a V10 since it has Inline 5 like sound bank while V5 sounds like inline 3 running with inline 2 at the same time.
