- Since the last election, Trump has been a big proponent of the Taiwan-based electronic manufacturer Foxconn's opening of a massive factory in Wisconsin, promising thousands of new jobs. But millions of taxpayer dollars and zero manufactured goods later, it seems like the people of Wisconsin have been Fox-conned. Ronny Chieng investigates. #DailyShow #RonnyChieng #Wisconsin

When I was finishing my doctorate, Foxconn was at my university and trying to recruit people. They were very excited about hiring someone with my background and when I asked what kind of jobs they had neither recruiter could answer. They just wanted me to fill out an application online and interview... for a job that seemingly didn't exist. We knew this was a scam from day one.
I heard they just hired people at the end of the year and fired them when they got the tax refunds. The people did nothing there, got paid to sit in an emlty office for a few months
My question is why am I seeing and hearing this on the daily show and not CNN and all the other big networks
It's been a slow drip of broken promises for the last 7 years.
CNN ownership is a major source of campaign funding for Trump, as is almost all large corporate media. The well has been poisoned.
I heard about this before. It was covered on my local news channels CBS, NBC, ABC, WGN, and WTTW, Public television.
Because that would require actual journalism and effort.

There were very loud protests here in Wisconsin when this whole foxconn thing started. We knew in advance what a terrible deal this was and that Foxconn couldn't be trusted. They had already backed out of several deals before they made it here to Wisconsin. But Scott Walker (then governor) pushed hard and got this to happen...
I'd like to thank Ronnie Chieng for visiting Wisconsin . I was wondering why my state felt funnier the other day , now i know why . Thanks !!
One thing that isn't addressed is the 10s of millions of dollars that the State of Wisconsin spent on the road infrastructure, including upgrades to the I94 interstate to handle all the traffic. This move by Scott Walker diverted highway funding from communities in the rest of the state, leaving bridges and roads in disrepair.
Yep, the republican legislature hyped this up and rammed it through. No accountability. I told my local (R) legislator to vote no on this. He sent me a letter about how great it was going to be and he eventually got promoted to majority leader in the party... Devin LeMahieu... and Gov. Walker eventually got placed at YAF as ceo making a million dollars with salary and perks.
