@@jerrell1169 I still have yet to figure out the MOM mod. I only recently just learned of the move it mod so I'm hoping I can use that to make use of public transportation more convenient!
I always find that the best way to do bus lines is to follow the way my local bus company does things. They have all the lines starting in the city centre and all of the main lines go to the main suburbs in the city. Then the other less frequently used lines take a more scenic and long way round to serve the less populated areas of that suburb. They also have a few lines going directly between the largest suburbs and missing the city centre entirely. That’s how I do things and it’s actually really effective
Explaining how to effectively use various transportation options are probably the most needed tutorial videos. This was quite useful. I look forward to the rest of the series.
I created a transit system much like Ottawa, Ontario's transit. Mine has a sunken bus only road going through my city end to end, with stops every so often. Speed limit raised to 90 and buses from the workshop able to take 150 passengers. I did that twice in my city and it reduces traffic my almost 40 percent. Works really well.
I mostly use cable car after seeing how good it is if you manage to place them in the right place. I usually make them go between the north and south of the city and then add an extra 2 lines that will go to west and east. I also make sure to use monorail and buses to cover the rest
Transit in my city is built around a hierarchy of loops that reflect the road hierarchy. Neighborhood superblocks or subdivisions are typically served by a couple "green line" tram loops which work like a fast grid, so you can get to any point in the neighborhood with one transfer. Surrounding neighborhoods and separated by green space, large avenues are either served by red line "Roadrunner" linear tram lines, or the "HighLine" elevated metro depending on demand. In newer parts of the city, passengers can easily walk through the green space from the collector loops to the high capacity lines. In older parts of town where things are a bit less walkable, we use an intermediate blue line Feeder tram loop to bridge the gap. You'll notice no mention of buses; I use these mostly in low-density suburbs, but even the green lines tend to very quickly out-grow the capacity of buses. Most new neighborhoods or superblocks are built with the green line trams in mind first, usually with dedicated rights of way. I've been blown away with how successful the trams are. The first superblock where we "tramified" the green line buses saw an immediate and dramatic reduction in traffic, and they operate with a large profit margin. It's great.
There's a Graf Zeppelin in the workshop that has a realistic capacity and looks awesome. It has a custom hangar and landing pads to go with. It's going to be perfect for getting workers up to my mountain areas.
Excellent! Now can we get a video on detailing the riverside? in a city? You know, green trees, benches, paths to walk on and enjoy the fresh air? Or maybe more, with river transportation stuffs and whatnot!
Attention, anyone! In my opinion there are always at least four (4) key elements to every operation or service. And they are: 1. Organization 2. Efficiency 3. Convenience 4. Balance Every operation or service should function properly on those four (4) elements. And this pertains to all aspects - (1.) taxpayer money, (2.) resources and (3.) time. Also, each and every city is unique and therefore have different needs and expectations. No two cities are the same. The city and transit managers in conjunction with the public ought to plan accordingly. Try to operate in the most sensible way possible! Anybody, please feel free to respond!
Hello, I would like to bring an idea to this great community, especially for the Playstation 4 and Xbox community, we would like there to be at least constant updates, for the versions to improve and the viewing for Playstation to be a little better or at least put in DLC sales that help.

Here I have also noticed this "error" - buses do not drive the entire bus into the bay and there are traffic jams even though the stop is able to accommodate 2 buses...
@@svis6888 Then how does the building get rid of Trash? Also police and fire service? Hi, I have a problem with the mass transit end station. I've only used it in one city, but onebody uses it. I made an important hub in and in front of the station but nobody goes on the trains there and I've never seen an intercity train going to that trainstation. But people do use the metro in the trainstation Can you please help?
I had this problem with Klyte's Transport Lines Manager 11 mod. It broke all my train stations, no one was using them and no train was spawned. I had to deactivate the mod and then demolish and rebuild the stations.
Probably because the Industries DLC screwed with the traffic mechanics so you need to download the new TMPE from the Workshop. If you don't have Industries installed, probably some of your other mods or assets might be scrambling it up. But if you play from a console, I don't have an answer for that.
I don't think these tips are that good. I use buses for the "last mile" in low traffic areas and I do loops where almost every turn they make is to the right (left for left lane traffic). Trams are really nice to look at, but if you do anything but a straight line prepare for hughe pain when the city grows and the traffic increases in unexpected places because they tend to get in the way of normal traffic and complicate things like remodelling a crossing to a roundabout (without sabotaging it's intend)

With a good public transport network you can transport many cims across your city!
How many have you been able to transport in a week?
I was able to transport 5k citizens on my switch version :P
20k
about 10k total.

Monorails are useful, but it didn't mix well with trams. Either the tram or the monorail has to be rerouted so you can have a seamless network.

Nice tips, when i put my buses in the city the congestions goes from 80-85 to 69-75% and for me if the congestion is below 80 then its a failed city
Even with highly skilled player, the bus's still overcrowded.
Meaning overcrowded bus stop isn't a sign of failure of players. It's the game failure.
