  • Julian Assange landed in Australia for the first time in more than a decade, following a guilty plea in a US court that allowed him to return to his home country a free man after serving time in a UK prison and holing up in an Ecuadorian embassy.
Assange touched down in the capital city of Canberra on Wednesday evening after flying from the Northern Mariana Islands. He arrived in the US territory earlier to appear before a federal court, where he pleaded guilty to unlawfully obtaining and disclosing “classified documents relating to the national defense,” according to a statement from the US Justice Department.
After exiting the plane, Assange punched his fist in the air before hugging his wife, Stella, and his father, Richard. He didn’t immediately address reporters.

Please, he simply published information that was provided to him. What people don't like is that information incriminated Democrats. He was for all intensive purposes in political exile for doing his job. He deserves every accolade he was given. Bring Snowden home he is protected by whistleblower status and I as a citizen want to know the rest of what he has uncovered. Between the two they uncovered that the government was indeed spying American citizens and holding on to all of our metadata when they had in fact told us they were not doing so. Among other lies that the American government was hiding. Get with the program get informed or get out of the conversation
