You got more "intentional fortitude" than I. I hunt deer in bear country, but I don't mess with bears. Never have in my nearly 40 years of hunting. Never will, They have the same respect from me that I give a skunk. They both have the right-of-way!
@@MaineGirlOutdoors Bear fat is great lube for muzzleloading. But I just use Crisco. My Dad shot a bear in his youth back in the late 50's. He told me it took himself and 5 more people to get it out of the woods. Told me not to mess with them, too much trouble. Deer are easier. He's never bagged a wild turkey. I've gotten 3 so far. Those are very easy to get out and VERY yummy!!
I've shot a few BLK .bears I've seen a few grizzlies as well ,it's unlawful to bait or trap, can't chase them with hounds anymore but Washington State has many bears .good luck with your quest,be safe .looks like a fat bear.
With all of you going back to rebait and fix the trap, I didn't see either one of You or Joe, wearing a pistol on your hip, just in case that or another Bear happened to be in that area for a daytime, try at it. If it's legal, I know that I would have. Good Luck
Do you or Joe have a email address you share publicly? I have a very interesting story I would love to share with you guys regarding a sighting we had while moose hunting in 2013..Because of the nature of the subject, it is better to be private.. Take care.
Keeps the coons out. The bear knocks it off and reaches in the trap for the goodies. When he pulls up on the sack of treats the cable snare comes up off the pipe and then he's caught by the paw.
I love teaching the kids about our outdoors, and our hunting and trapping heritage.
Where did you purchase those snare tubes??
Smith's General Store in Springfield Maine.
Glad to see you guys out doing what your doing.. We worked hard down here in 2014 with question 1, and they are coming back soo..
Looks like a good one coming in. Hopefully you get him
Only got about two weeks left!
Aww... Lit'l Shweetie face forgot her milk! 🤣💞🍧
Good luck, Danni! 🐻🍯👀
She was bummed about that milk🤣🤣🥰. Thank you for the good luck wishes!
Hopefully, a big Bear shows up for ya. Good Luck! My brother got one two weeks ago.
Awesome! Happy for him! What did it weigh?
@@MaineGirlOutdoors I think his bear dressed out at 227lbs

Missing out on good meat for the winter! And the rendered bear grease is great for cooking, baking, making soap, and more!

@dennismorrill685 the rock or something that weighs 30lbs on top of the tube is also required by law.
