Crazy how packed it is, had no idea. People can barely move! Los Angeles Convention Center needs to expand big time!! Like twice the size if they can.

the LA convention center is already really big, like, that thing takes up an entire block on the street, anime expo just oversells tickets

people who have money and are jerks, buy, THEN sell tickets for a higher price for those last minute people. trust me, days before, youll see people posting ads on reddit, and even on the street posts about their tickets they're selling.
This video isn't even how packed it was day one 😭😭
I was there back in 2009 and throughout the years all the way to 2014. The place has become very popular to a point that it is just not feasible to go because you can barely walk around. There were years that I waited outside of the building along with hundreds of other people waiting to get our badges. They need to organized this into two locations to ease the congestion.
So nice to see the different things at Anime Expo via your videos.

This seems more like how con’s used to be pre-pandemic. I’m glad we’re heading towards that direction. Hopefully, SDCC will be like this.
It was exactly like that! Been going to AX since 08, and this year was soo good and reminded me of the good ol days of Anime Expo. Hope next year is just as good.
You want to be around even more people? I enjoyed having less people in public places and people wearing masks so they aren't getting their saliva everywhere.

@@CaptainBuggyTheClown what??? Lol no I enjoyed that the con was ran more smoothly this year. Wth are you even talkin about? Lol we arent going to get around the fact that its become popular lol so my point is, they actually managed the large amount of people properly this year. No chaos, ppl didnt smell as much this year, they openes 2 entrances to the con, the lines kept moving and wasn't waiting forever, they blasted the AC the whole time. Shit just went well. Litteraly every popular con now-a-days is gonna be crowded...same as sdcc.

This is so cool! But MAN it's really crowded. It feels like what Saturday at SDCC used to feel like back in the day. Just stuffed in there like sardines. LOL Very cool video! ^_^
AX has similar attendance number to SDCC. This year the first day was on a saturday which made it worst than usual

Combine LA weather with a lot of bodies + cosplay fabric, wafts of cafeteria food and the occasional lack of hygiene = 😬

The people, oh my god, the people! The people alone would be worth the trip! So many interesting costumes and trinkets and accessories and mascots and etc... I imagine there's a story behind every single one. I imagine everyone I see here could talk all day about what they're wearing or what they're holding or carrying... I want to go! Please come to the east coast!
It's a good thing that Japanese anime and manga cross words and borders and make everyone smile.

i went there on saturday, it was crowded, but it was amazing! i got recognized a lot and people took pictures with me. i was basil from omori

If you're going while cosplayed its tons of fun. The more well known a character is the more interaction from other fans and photographers you'll get. Although I had a friend who was super good in a cosplay and he got SO SICK of people asking for photos after so much walking. We would be eating lunch sitting down in a corner and someone would come up. Your costume heavily will influence how long you stay at the con. Larger costumes or heavy ones in the summer, plus so much body heat everywhere, will make you worn out within 3-6 hours. Merch can be a huge rip off and anything you buy will need to be carried unless you got a hotel room or car to store it.

I went July 3rd, I saw online that the first two days were more crowded and no air conditioning but thankfully not a lot of people for me and air conditioning worked
there was ac the first day and it didnt smell bad at all
yeah it was actually pretty chill the first few days, considering the amount of people. really impressed with this year, compared to the last few years

The hallways on day one were quite crowded, but once inside the entertainment halls people were at least moving/flowing.

My brother was in Anime Expo 2023 for 3 days. On Day 1, he was Nate from Pokemon. Day 2 and Day 3, he was Curtis from Pokemon. He wants Yancy and Curtis to be more recognized in Pokemon. He has hopes anyone will cosplay as Yancy and Curtis. From his experience, Curtis is easy to cosplay as; light green vest, black shirt, grey pants, blue shoes, light green wig and a black cap with a light green front and two blue stripes around the top.

To a degree, I agree.
But, at the same time, I'm here for the exposure and due respect it finally deserves.
Akira was my 1st introduction to anything anime as a child in the 90s watching 1am TV.
I'm feeling disappointed I didn't even see any merch from Dragon maid, the time I was reincarnated as a slime, HighSchool DxD, Overlord, Arifureta, Rurouni Kenshin wandering Samurai, my dress up darling, my Senpai is annoying, buddy Daddies .ice blade sorcerer,
I want actually anime merch not merchandise that doesn't even seem like it's anime at all!
