i didnt know this! most flightsim devs hate allowing you to use vr hands for anything and instead opt for clunky control schemes like it isn't vtol vr but i'm glad it's there
VTOL/VR: no HOTAS support out of principle (I can understand the developer’s reasons, but alas.) DCS: HOTAS support, but spotty VR hands support. Too bad we can’t have both.
This is old news. This has been the thing since 2019....You just needed Motion Leap that ED started properly support. It cost back then 20 €, until company was purchased and prices jumped to 120-150.
This is more clunky than just using your mouse. The implementation is horrible, half of the time the buttons won't even press, depending on how the game is feeling that day. Better just point with your face and click with your hotas.
my knob strategy is: put finger on knob, guess a direction, move finger straight along that axis, use that to figure out which direction most affects rotation, bring finger back when I can’t rotate further, repeat if needed it’s very jenky but works well enough. the key is that linear motion turns into rotation and DCS seems to pick a random direction for that motion every time
i mainly fly the f18. and i have a MFD pack with the top centre module. that hand tracking would be helpful to know where my hands are cuz i often struggle to press the right button cuz i cant see where my hands are when in vr 😂
We got X, Y and Z axis to setup both hands but we need those three axis for each hand individual! That would allow me to line up my real hornet cockpit with the virtual one. Would increase the MR experience enormously.
Just at least allow to have a "gun" gesture on the knob. So touch knob with pointing index finger to say "I want this knob do something", and then the extended thumb in 90 degree angle will help the hand tracking to track your wrist rotation. And now you can do about 180 degree turn as much your wrist turn. And to stop, just pull your finger out.... And for all switches and such, Index finger to point, thumb "trigger" will lock and allow move hand to adjust value.
Damnit, I was looking into getting a PC for vr and dcs but that's HEARTBREAKING that you don't get to push buttons in the f-14. I spent a lot of time playing f-14 tomcat on my Gameboy (yes, I'm old)
Nice vid Tuuvas. I just bought the WinWing Ursa Minor because of your review. What VR headset are you using? And is there a seamless way to switch from a HOTAS / Mouse / KB to Hand Tracking? Or is it possible to use it all at the same time? Thanks.
Unfortunately there's no way to really toggle between cursor and hand interaction on the fly. The only way to do this, at least as far as I know, is via the options -> VR tab, and even then, sometimes it bugs out and stops showing your hands entirely no matter how much you try to bring them back. Edit: forgot to add that I'm using a Quest Pro for VR.
On some modules you can move the stick and throttle with the vr hands, though it isnt very practical since you cant manipulate any of the hotas buttons.
Enemy MiG - ejects after losing a fight
Tuuvas - “I can… you know”
"I can you know"
You know.. the finger
@@Tuuvas" oh, i hate when he does that"

That's why you buy the Slugmouse. Finger mounted mouse or joystick buttons utilising hand tracking to move the mouse. Works with all DCS modules.
Great editing.
I like the way you explain things. Both seriously, and 'you know'.......... not so seriously. 😂

do you realise you can just skip hand tracking and do a mixed reality thing like warthog project
I've had a leap controller for years but just CAN NOT get it to work in dcs.
Try left and right for knobs.. That helped with my Quest 2 hand controls.
how do you enable hand tracking in dcs?
I think knobs are like a slope line so if you go up right it increase and vise versa
Can you tell us how? I use dcs and they’d the missing part to the vr experience for true immersion.
settings, vr, there's a check box. as long as your vr is setup for hand tracking, it should work.
What I don't understand is how people use their (physical) joystick and throttle quadrants while wearing this stuff.
THAT'S INSANE ! 👁️👃👃👁️🙏
MAJESTIC !!!
how do you active for me only mouse icon appears in glove and the joystick of plane not work fine. ...
Knobs need a pinch and twist hand tracking configuration to be reliable in any way in any program... Take note, my fellow devs.

I just use my view as the cursor and point and click by looking at everything
is there a way to sync the VR gloves with real hands and touch real hardware on your sim that is synced with the panels in the VR?
what's needed: 1. haptic wristband or glove 2. VTOL VR gesture interaction logic
but
DCS priorities are not my priorities so expect it never
I have just setted up my hand tracking and i cant interact with the cockpit. Even with my controllers i only can use cursor. Any idea how to fix it?
Which aircraft?

How do you enable hand tracking with the quest. Are you using virtual desktop rather than quest link?
I'm using a link cable with developer mode enabled. There's tutorials on TH-cam for how to enable this

What about using the stick?

Can people in MP see you giving them the finger?
Lmao!! That is some funny stuff!!!
How do you use your hotas with this?
What headset are you using? It is an additional software?
Cool 😂
Well, it doesn't work even half as good as in VTOL VR, maybe one day
What jet is this?
Does this need a Mod?
Then need a vtol vr system.
❤❤❤
Great vid, I have hand tracking with my Q3 but when I try it its really sloppy, how do you get it so good?
Honestly? Probably just good lighting on my hands. That or a recent update made them better
I used to use Q3 and tried hand tracking, and neat but not practical
Could you use controller?
How???
Can other people see your hands from a different aircraft?
Unfortunately no :(
its after update?
Co to za mapka?
What is the game called
DCS World
And is it free
is it a mod
No. DCS supports hand tracking assuming your device is capable and set up for it
Lol
