      Prices have really skyrocketed over the last few years. Be glad you bought when you did!

    HOLY MACKERAL!!! 😱 I can't believe the prices!!! Just 4 years ago we bought our 45+ acres in Kentucky for less than $1,000/acre!

      That’s a great price! Yeah. Prices have absolutely skyrocketed. Also, we are right outside of Louisville, so prices were already higher. But even if you go in the mountains, you’d be hard-pressed to find anything for less than $2000 an acre these days.

      Yes, wow! I was expecting it to be less, especially if the house is not the greatest. It's almost Minnesota prices!

      Yep, 200 acres in Colorado was $1,000 an acre just a few short years ago. It is breathtakingly beautiful, in the Rocky Mountains with a view of Pike's Peak. That is why I can't believe the prices!

    I know I told you my Dad was an auctioneer the other day, but he was also a realtor and appraiser (and a sporting goods store owner, newspaper columnist and tax preparer; all careers ran concurrently just about my whole life-whew!). I also sold real estate for a while, so I love these type of videos. IF I could go back in time, I wish we’d invested less in retirement plans and more in land. The land all around here has done nothing but appreciate for decades and we could liquidate as WE want and not as big brother tells us we can. I wish you all the best of luck on your investment endeavors. You are pragmatic and will do great. 👍

      @AnnaWagnerCarroll  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      That’s a lot of careers! Haha. I think investing in land is the best investment as well. I wish we had bought more when it was cheaper!

      That is what we did, 45 years of acquiring land, 7 properties across 3 states and visited them once in a while in our RV but not much else, then when retirement time got close, we started selling them off. We thought the ROI was not worth it to put money in a bank. Land was super cheap back then too and bare land has almost no taxes either. I don't know if it can still be done today though.

    I love looking at rural properties. I use to flip houses and was into real estate out west and in the Midwest so it's interesting to me to see what it's like in KY and that area.

    Good advise and awesome prices. I looked online for an acre and it was 100,000 and a 2.9 acre cleared for 100,000 here in Florida. So definitely will move to a rural area in another state. I just am scared of twisters and I hate hurricanes. So maybe just stay here this house has been here since 1936

    Seeing on television over the years not just the devastation, but the obliteration that tornadoes cause in the US made me wonder why so many people would choose to live in areas where they are a regular possibility. Now I get it, the country (land) is just beautiful.

      Propaganda and illogical fears over Tornados in the US. Much more likely to get killed in a car accident or Armed violence in a city than tornado. Or more likely to die of air pollutants etc... Tornado deaths are relatively uncommon. I live in Oklahoma
