I used a reseller called Reverb to buy my recent purchase, the AKG K702 for $185 US. If they were used, I can't tell. They're in pristine condition.
I also have had the AKG K240 MkII for over a year. I am I guess an AKG fan.
I love both AKG 'phones I've got, they're quite different. I use both to mix live at my Church for the Livestream. As I'm sitting in the back of the sanctuary mixing, monitors is just plain out.
I need a better phone's amp, but my utility Mackie is OK but not a standout.
Planar style cans are a wishlist item. Maybe some day.
Great video discussing the 2 models here. If I had the money, I'd grab a pair of Audeze 1 hour ago.

As a K702 user, I strongly disagree with the FR graph you've shown - they are well extended, basically from 200Hz down to 40Hz there's only like 2dB difference. What you see in your graph is textbook lack of amplification. K700 series are NOTORIOUS for needing a good amp. Compare your FR graph, with for example one from "innerfidelity headphone measurements" or "crinacle k702" measurement (you will find both by just googling quoted words). This is how they do sound with a good power source, and I do love my pair for well mastered electronic/club-like music. :)

@@producewithjt Try your pair on any decently powerful amp with high gain on, you will be shocked by difference in lows and treble! For a reference point, my current amp I run mine with is rated for 800mW at 32ohm, 150mW 300ohm, peak output 15vpp - got high gain on and its volume knob is somewhere around 55-60% (left my system volume at 60% as well). If you find an unit that lands in the similar, if not better, power ballpark, you are golden with K702s.

A fairer comparison would be to compare the audezes with a $300 planar, a planar will always sound very different to a dynamic headphone

Side note...there’s a contest now going on where someone can win LCD-1s. I’ll tag you in the post on IG

Awesome, I love the LCD1s and LCD2s. Not quite as warm, rich, and full as the 3s but hey: they’re Audezes.

@@producewithjt yep. My ears haven’t had the pleasure of hearing audio through a pair of Audeze headphones yet.

Several companies use the same driver in $400 and $5,000 headphones. My final audios were like that.
I have a set of AKG on the way.

@@producewithjt There are also velour replacement pads for the Audeze, since you don't like the (fake) leather. 3rd party vendors produce ear pads for various brands/models with different outside and inside materials (fake leather, velour, ... , memory foam, gel, ...).
