- Hello everyone, today's video will showcase hidden tech with the lantern shield and rondel dagger that nobody is using and is a viable counter to the current metas. I dont use the term OP lightly, but I believe after mastering the learning curve of this new tech (being able to parry all weapon attack animation swings) I feel that it has all the right qualities to be considered overpowered (to be tested in hr). I will soon test good kits in HR to gather more data after I polish this tech and learn all weapon attack animations. This video was inspired after @Firebox720 challenged me in his livestream to create something to stop current cleric frenzy. I hope this secret lantern shield tech and guide helps our veteran and F2P adventurers counter the current menacing metas running the dungeons and I wish everyone the best of luck in their raids! :)
TLDR: Lantern Shield Tech: The lantern shield mechanic parry 2 is a replacement to the final animation in the weapons normal attack cycle. Since rondel is infinite combo you, can parry 2 at any point and get this neat interaction.

The Rondel and Lantern Shield synergize amazingly together. The blueprint of the new tech is that this build uses the counterattack perk (+10% move speed +10% action speed after blocking) and the combo attack perk (+10% phys damage which stacking attacks) the rondel has an infinite loop attack pattern and the Lantern parry has a 2 part animation sequence. The goal is to parry the enemies first attack, activating the first parry animation and then transfer directly into the rondel dagger doing fast dps into the enemy meanwhile gaining the buff from combo attack and when you feel fit you press the shield button again after the chain of rondel dps attacks and it activates the last parry animation attack of the lantern shield which will apply the empowered +10% phys damage as well as the +10% armor pen from the rondel dagger on the multiplier attack from the lantern shield. That is pretty much the secret tech & build in a nutshell, please let me know if you have any other questions!

Been using lanternshield since release. Counter attack combo barricade and the armor rating bonus perk. Lanternshield keeps all pdr bonuses during the attack animation ao u can still be a tanky dog while dealing ur dmg. Your welcome fellow pdr peeps.

uncommon boots w/ move speed for >25gs lobbies are really nice but they can get a tad pricey, with certain classes builds it's possible to wear Rare Boots/Helm/Gloves or Boots too

Hey man, interesting take. The lantern shield mechanic parry 2 is better explained as a replacement to the final animation in the weapons normal attack cycle. Since rondel is infinite combo you, can parry2 at any point and get this neat interaction.
Unfortunately, the lantern shield is just bad; parry timing wise against low impact weapons, as a shield blocking normally wise against high impact weapons, and even MS wise. I don't think you would be able to out dps a cleric with this, but is probably a fun meme build to run. GG's man and hope you keep enjoying it!

Btw it's called a lantern shield because it has a lantern on it. Press reload to turn it on. It should be R by default
i dont think i understand, so you block to trigger counter attack and then swing with the rondel and you just keep swinging, until the 3 stacks of combo then release the lantern?
also why stack the drums, do they just do the most bang for your buck?

I find that the drums do a great amount of damage and are easy to recover for later use, the frannys are also great but are harder to recover after use
How do you use the lantern blade ?
Great question! When you block the first attack press the shield button again immediately and it will trigger the parry attack animation!

How is it that dark and darker has appeal to RuneScape players, this is like third or fourth ytber that uses music from it. Or is it just trend that content creators do
Strong community focus, somewhat unique and similar aesthetics, grind-based progression system / RPG elements, etc. I'm an OSRS player myself and I play Dark and Darker too.
I agree with @raized943! As a long time osrs player I love the aspect of having different class archetypes, black market(grand exchange haha), gear progression, questing, pve, pvp, it just hits all the right boxes for me so I feel the music fits well :p
