These drop pods are really amazingly detailed models and I have a blast putting them together. Finishing up the paintjob on mine. The value though of these is horrendous though. I really do wish we got at least 6 per box for the price they're asking for. Would be cool if they made a army kit with multiple of these drop pod kits at a discount. Regardless, I'll try to slowly buy a box at a time of these and build up to a larger drop pod assault force. You paint job looks great too btw!
Thanks! What legion are you painting yours as? Games workshop is almost showing off with how much detail they can fit into miniatures at this scale - they are all so detailed. Those are both great ideas for improving the value prop; I think ultimately I would have been happy enough not having them be configurable if it meant they could squeeze in a bit more. Have fun building and painting up yours!
@7:37 I’ve been using the new AK Real Colors markers. Helps with little things like the hazard stripes. The tips of the markers are still a little too big for infantry eyes though lol
Great models and lovely painting. Army building wise though its a hard choice of 10 rhinos vs 4 drop pods, let alone compared to other models such as 6 predators (210 points) or 4 kratos (260 points). Kind of makes drop pods something you pick up later on in the army building journey.
Very informative and a really clean paintjob. I've been getting stuck into my titans for my LI army. Though... the amount of titans are starting to outweigh the rest of my units hahaha. Great video, keep it up! 😄
Nice initial paint job but a little too clean! They've just dropped from orbit, give them a blast with some black from underneath to represent scorching. Although given the price theyll probably stay stuck on the battle barge.
Great video and great paint job! I personally love the drop pods, but it would be nice if the kits just contained more than just 4. Number just seems so low
Thanks! Yeah totally, I think I would have even been happy losing the ability to configure the pods as either type if it meant they could squeeze another two into the box.
@@WargamersWorkshopI absolutely agree! I think that would’ve been better than what’s currently in the box. And they could’ve either made the Deathstorm a separate kit or just not at all, seeing as LI is not „You get what you see“
Hey! You are 100% right, I’ve been trying to strike a balance between showing the assembly and ensuring it’s entertaining to watch. Let me know if you’d like me to spend a bit more time on the assembly.
Hey! For Legions Imperialis scale miniatures I use Tamiya Extra Thin Cement. Ive found it works really well for the extremely small parts on these models.
I love/hate these models. They are very pretty, while at the same time being horrendously overpriced (both in actual money and in points/box) and they are unusabley fragile. After only a few games every pod has at least one broken door. The hinges just can't stand up to the articulation once there's some paint/glue adding stress to the action. That's a terrible shame for such clever models, but I'd take unarticulated 3D prints over them any day.
Haha, yeah I’ve found the doors get quite difficult to open and close now that they are painted - good to know they are prone to breaking, I’ll avoid opening and closing them too much. It’s really unfortunate though - the coolest part is that they open to reveal their payload.

Thanks for the suggestion - I’ll have to look into those!

left out key assembly stuff - like one interior divider is different and the up rights are two different configs.
