Friday Night Funkin' is an open-source rhythm game released on Newgrounds in 2020.The game is developed by a small group called The Funkin' Crew Inc., which consists of Cameron "ninjamuffin99" Taylor, David "PhantomArcade" Brown, Isaac "Kawai Sprite" Garcia, and evilsk8r. The game shares some gameplay features with Dance Dance Revolution and PaRappa the Rapper and borrows aesthetic influences from Flash games. The game has been credited with driving users back to Newgrounds, a site whose popularity peaked in the early 2000s.
The game revolves around the player character, Boyfriend, who must defeat a variety of opponents in singing and rapping contests in order to continue dating his love interest, Girlfriend. Gameplay involves hitting notes with timed inputs while avoiding running out of health for the duration of the song.
The game was initially created for the Ludum Dare 47 game jam on October 5, 2020.An expanded demo was released on November 1, 2020, with updates continually released in the following months. A full version of the game backed by Kickstarter, titled Friday Night Funkin': The Full Ass Game, is in development.

the old one was pretty okay, but the new one is just a million times better. they tuned some vocals in the new one but never in the old version. AND the old version is made by a very disgusting person according to marco

The composers who worked on the new ending KNEW what it meant to "Play It Loud!"
Imagine once you get to the end of the mod and it's just the old unbeatable, it would've been the most underwhelming and disappointing endings to an otherwise incredible mod
The current unbeatable is easily the better off the two, longer run time, better melody, better ending, everything. It didn't disappoint and made an already incredible mod go out with a bang.
One point I give in favor of the old version is that it has the Mario Bros. game over music (just like at the end of the original commercial). I would have liked the new versión to have it somehow.

@@DoomIsReallyEpic Damn, I didn't realize it until I heard the instrumental version. It cannot be heard in the normal versión due to the character's vocals
The new one is objectively better, but the old one has more of a "fun" vibe to it. It sounds like something you'd play in irregularity isle or another early-game world, instead of a post-game "final challenge."
Incorporating some of the voicelines and the "don't miss" sections from the final song into the old version would likely make it heaps better, but that's just my take.
I've also heard via these comments that the old version was made by a less-than-respectable individual, so it was probably better this way.
I just feel like the old one fits "a 90s commercial" vibe better, but the new one is overall a better sounding song (I love the allegro motive on mr sys lol)

Old: I love the fake out before Bowser’s section, anyone who hasn’t seen the ad (face it, it was a lot of us before Unbeatable came along) wouldn’t know Bowser was coming
New: just generally better, but I do appreciate the better mixing with the combined part, (level 4) really giving the feeling that this is an all out war between everyone
I like the old intro better, as in the part before they actually start singing, than the new one but that’s the only point I can give the old Unbeatable. The new Unbeatable is an incredible remaster, it’s not even the same thing anymore really, it’s something better.

Despite the old one being made by someone bad, It does sound decent, but the new one is just so much better, the new one is like a final challenge, while the old one sounds like it was suppose to be one of the many enemies you fight until you reach the end

V1 is like your regular Gauntlet fight in an RPG While V2 is the equivalent of fighting all the Deltarune Secret Bosses at once
Personally, I like the previous rhythm better than the old version, it makes it more catchy.

I'm gonna be honest, some parts in the new version just don't hit as hard (specifically the intro of the Duck Hunt and Bowser sections) but it's a sacrifice I'm willing to make for that banger ending.

I had a Feeling if Nova didn't get into any Controversies the Old Unbeatable would have likey been Playable as the first song in Hellish Heights Before the Second song Golden land would have Happend after you Beat Novas Version of Unbeatable since i had a feeling His Version of Unbeatable would Happend as the first Song in Hellish Heights.
