the "Serenity Prayer" is pretty long, but beautiful. Roger, as anyone who's recited this prayer in a twelve step program, just says the last few lines of the prayer which really goes, "God, grant me the Serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things I can, and the wisdom to know the difference". I have to find a copy of the entire prayer. I have recited this tail end of the prayer, and I love it.

I've lived within 5 minutes walk of the great man for nearly two decades, and we haven't spotted him even once. I do know he is a true night owl, but still... It really brings home what he meant when he quoted Harrison as saying "when I asked to be sucessful I didn't mean famous". He clearly doesn't like the public attention which is associated with great fame. When driving through a nice part of Clapham, as he mentioned Live Aid (which is no surprise), someone noticed the 'Great Geldof' leaving a certain house, of which someone should say no more about. But I've often thought how weird it is that I've never seen the great man above, despite being *almost* neighbors...
It’s both incredible and satisfying to hear Brian say that he looks up to Eric Clapton, Jeff Beck and Jimi Hendrix the same way as of this video that he did before Queen even formed - and simultaneously amusing for him to muse that the Foo Fighters could be his progeny. I’m glad they enjoy working together, but I don’t think those guys are in a position to lick his shoes. When Queen appeared at Live Aid, they May not necessarily have been appearing to their own fan base, but it’s logical to say enough of them were interspersed through the crowd in that arena that they sort of were at the same time. (He says as he’s just viewed the Bohemian Rhapsody motion picture and the original concert footage back to back.)

Calling Roger Taylor a "good" singer is an understatement. I have said this many times and will continue to do so until I die: if you give Roger Taylor a mic and you put him in front of a rock band, you have one of the 5 greatest lead singers in the history of rock n' roll, period. Now he may have not been one of the best showmen (like Elvis or whatever), but in terms of pure singing ability, very few singers in rock music have Roger's range and facility - especially in the upper registers. He's essentially a better version of Rod Stewart. He has that perfect rasp, but Rod has nowhere near the range that Roger does. What is even more amazing about Roger is that he had to sing in unison or sing vocal harmonies with Freddie Mercury while he was often drumming in 6/8 and 5/4 time at a fast tempo. I have no idea how he was ever able to pull that off.
