The circular saw is also adjustable for depth of cut too, to cater for different thickness ACP. In the demonstration - it seemed to me the tool was taking too deep a cut. However, like you indicate Abdulaziz, at building the tool he is an absolutely craftsman.
@@MiniLuv-1984 I really wonder if you could use this concept and use only one blade and make it some what adjustable. Grinders are high speed so it should work right? With it being one blade and using some sort of adjustment screw and a set screw to lock it you can adjust it to what you need. The other idea would be some sort of off set hole and when you twist it expands in or out. Its still a really nice tools when you use the same sheet size over and over and seems much better than using a saw. Provided the space between the cutter and end is exactly a good measurement say 100mm or 1 inch or something like that.
@@MiniLuv-1984 " it seemed to me the tool was taking too deep a cut. " I thought he did that on purpose so it can be aluminum brazed ( some call it welding but I think it's more like brazing ) to reinforce the corner! But he did not show doing this so I could be wrong.

A router with its changable inserts, variable speed and depth of cut would indeed be the right tool not only to cut groves into Dibond, but also lots of other materials. While being a nicely crafted device, I don't see any advantage in doing quite a complicated building job on the lathe for this device, other than to make an interesting YT-video and provoke a lively debate in the comment section ;-)

Hi, each time a tool engages with work in your lathe chuck, there is a tiny jump upwards. It’s as if the slideways on the tailstock are loose. Look at the video, especially when using the centre drill and subsequent drills {but not only}. Cheers.
Amazing build and idea !! by the way, I think if you make larger or smaller OD wheels you can cut shallower/deeper grooves, good for various applications .
Can’t wait to see how this prototype iterates … also is that a Carmel colored carbonated beverage being used in place of cutting oil?! … because it looks cooler than it should when you film it!
Makes more sense to modify a circular saw blade so it cuts a similar groove, less work, safer to use, built in height adjustment, and can be used with a track or fence. Still great machining!
@@MiniLuv-1984 circular saw runs at about 3x the optimum cutting speed for Aluminum but I would use a circular saw per rutger suggestion as the angle grinder runs way to fast.

Hello Excellent workmanship as always. I would like to get the plans to make your projects but, for me it is way too expensive. I am a retired former metalworker living on a pension and could not afford to contribute $10 per month which is the amount you want to give the plans. So, maybe if you reduced your rates, you might get more subscribers to pay monthly. However, you are a highly skilled metalworker and it is very enjoyable to watch your videos on you tube. Thank you and good luck with your work.
Putting way too much trust into the stock shaft of that grinder. I've seen them snap at the threads with the prescribed tools, let alone with something like this, that's over the original rating. Should make your own shaft out of sturdier steel, this thing is by far the most dangerous thing you've made so far.
I hope this idea hits the world and can make you millions of dollars!!!

technically you can use a standard flat end mill and use an angled plate so you always cut at 45 degrees, to turn the [ cutter into a V cutter.
That's how we do it with a router. Just a simple metal or nowadays maybe a 3d printed thingy and you're good to go!
Perfect 🤍
