Tip: For Raw Depth Pass (Not sure if it is right workflow) Step1: While rendering Z-depth pass, check 'Depth From Camera' option box of Z-depth render element and (I don't if it is necessary or not but) select 'Deep Merge Mode' to Zdepth in render setting. Step2: Save your render in .exr format(Very Important). Step3: In Photoshop make sure image mode is 32bit/channel. Step4: Add exposure layer on top of your Z-Depth layer and tweak exposure and offset to control the Z-depth channel Use this workflow to get raw Depth pass which is easily controllable Depth pass and it is very important if you're rendering animation in vray
In general, I advice not to use too many of rener elements in post and do as much as possible in 3d. However, sometimes it's easier or faster to change things in post 😃 Anyways, I'm glad you found it useful 😊
Really informative. Could you please do a detailed video on vray render elements? Showing post production methods of the same as well. Thanks in advance.
I'm not too handy with it but, by experience, Camera depth takes ages to render where it takes much less time in post to adjust a ZDepth with lens blur in PS. Also, you really have to understand Aperture Stops and focal distance (as you would with a real camera) to get the DOF you're looking for straight in 3D...
Has anyone noticed how newer versions of Photoshop are now unable to open some EXR files? I have to use an old CS6 instance of photoshop just to import the EXRs. Nothing wrong with the EXR files, some open and other's don't in new Photoshop versions but all open in older Photoshops. Anyone know a solution to this problem?
Very Useful tutorial as always. You are so beautiful no doubt but in your tutorials when you switch screen to face cam and face cam to screen continuously it's to much irritating. It's humble request please make a little bit change. Thank you.

More than great. I need to learn this. In the past, I've adjusted the image as a whole.
