    I just found your channel through your IG dude and I've gotta say this is awesome! Love the content so far. Definitely gonna start tagging the OldSol community in the photos now.
    This targa sealer looks freaking legit and I've been searching for something proper in the rainy months. ✌🏿

    About to do this to my '97, thanks for the tips! My top doesn't leak (the car spent the majority of its life in the garage, and is still garage kept) and I wanna make sure it stays that way!

    bad idea to do that before painting. you risk silicone contaminations. thank you for your videos

    If you seals have rips and tears will this make any difference?

    • @OldSols
      @OldSols  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      mace FTL i believe at that point personally you’d have to first try and fill in cracks and tears with black silicon and smooth them out so they are flush. Then still apply shinetsu on the areas that are still intact. This will help close fill in the pours and plump up the seals for a closer tighter seal.

      @@OldSols Tight, first response I've gotten that hasn't been get new seals or perm seal the roof :) so much respect

    • @OldSols
      @OldSols  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      mace FTL I mean hell .... worth a shot to try the black silicon and sinetsu .... if anything you tried and if it’s still not working THEN you resort to finding some junk yard seals or buying them off eBay for a pretty penny

      Windshield PU sealant works better but need to remove old silicone for adhesion. Seals are made from EPDM material, unfortunalely without additives so squeak.

    Thanks for the info but it's pretty annoying turning the volume up to hear you and then turning the volume down because of the loud music

      Discountinued. All hopes on chinese or advancements in 3D printing. Latest USDM or all EDM models has better seals.

    Ugh, NEVER use alcohol on rubber! It breaks it down and drys the rubber out!

    • @otofoto
      @otofoto 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      It is not rubber but EPDM.

    Too much sound insulation. Only 1/3 of area needs to be covered. No need to make it so heavy.
