Rabryak It's a prank that doesn't generally offend someone. It doesn't hurt or discriminate, it's a prank that makes people smile. There is no need to go overboard and for example throw pies in people faces etc. This is what I call a prank,
Nowadays it's all about making fun of the innocent bystanders or get some insane reactions, then they wonder why some of them get really pissed off and offended.
People need to learn to show respect towards eachother. That doesn't mean that all the pranks out there are shit, but we need to draw the line somewhere and think rational about what's right and what's wrong.

This is great! Exactly how pranks should be - harmless and not laughing at someone else’s expense. Too many ‘prank’ videos these days just seem to be either how much they can humiliate someone in public or what’s the most horrible thing they can throw at someone to hurt them.

This is actually a really good test for the city's accessibility. Because wherever this trash can falls down - a person in a wheelchair will have trouble. This is a good city, as the trash can didn't have any problems going in and out of the store and crossing streets

Colin i suggest that you put some kind of platform in between the engine and the actual trash part so that you can put something in it :)
So many people apparently not that startled by a trash bin with a mind of its own. Obviously aware Colin is a local resident and they can expect anything, anytime.
I actually like the idea for serious usage. Just like vacuum cleaning robots, the bin could move towards the street and after being emptied, it moves back to the house. Then, you could add pipes from inside to the place the bin is standing. The pipe gets closed at outside when the bin is absent and opens if it stays under it.
