Good question! Besides Fran's personal affection towards them and ability to convince our head stockman, the Berkshire's had proven to be quieter piglets, perfect for our demonstrations and 'meet the piglets' events, even more so than the Kune Kune.
@@CotswoldFarmPark thanks for your reply 👍. If Berkshires are easier/quieter than the Kune Kune I will have to reonsider which will the better for me 🤔
@samanthabrookes3604 even though a year has passed since your comment I wanted to put my 2 cents in . At this time I have mulefoot/red wattle, Idaho pasture pig, kunekunes, large black, mulefoot/wild hog mix and American guniea hog/kunekune mix and large black yorkshire mix . My buddy had berkshires and he likes them but he's now split of getting ipp(idaho pigs). Berks are good pigs with great meat no doubt about that . But in my experience the Idaho pasture pig is superior mine has a kune like personality , shes about 9 or 10 months and well over 210lbs , very quiet and not terribly destructive like some other breeds and the meat us next level IMO . The other two breed I say are worth a look would be a red wattle mix and surprisingly (to me) one of better mixes I strongly recommend is the yorkshire/large black , mine are super docile , should be great mothers(my pigs mother did a good job I was told ) and they will produce alot of meat with a decent litter size . I also have a potbelly lol .
Can you turn off the subtitles please, it’s really annoying! You can turn subtitles on if you want or need to use them, so there is no need to do this. Please give us the choice of having them on or off.
Thank you to you both for the feedback. It is something we currently plan to continue doing for those who benefit from it, although we will continue to observe our viewers preferences.
I'm planning on buying two Berkshire guilts this weekend and this has been very informative. Thank you. And I love how the young lady says Berkshire.
Wonderful, we're so glad it was helpful! Best of luck with your new pigs!

The subtitles were very helpful. Not a distraction at all.

Very interesting subject but I can't understand one in 3rd word she's speaking - slow down and maybe could understand you.
Thank you for your feedback, we'll do our best.
@@CotswoldFarmPark I'm American and there is absolutely no issue understanding you. Keep up the great work! That feedback was absolutely useless!
