Looks a lot like a scaled down Goose with modern power plants instead of the big frontal area radials.
    That’s a nice upgrade!

I like the "big frontal area radials " better.

    • @robertwalsh5461

@@stranraerwal …everyone is entitled to their taste. Those big 9-17 cylinder radials were an excellent defensive advantage to fighter pilots of the Jug, Hellcat and a few other pursuit fighter/bombers in WW2. Like a big shield, they would soak up 30-50 caliber rounds as well as flack in any front on attack and often enough keep running well enough to get the allied pilots home or at least over friendly waters.
Many WW2 pilots even preferred the P-47 to a Mustang in the European theater for just this reason.
The fact that the PBY Catalina, Goose and many other big navy flying boats had them fitted was simple wartime logistics…the engine factory was churning them out as fast as they could…so they were available.

@@robertwalsh5461 : don't forget the advantage of not having to deal with heavy, cumbersome, and often troublesome water cooling systems.

@@stranraerwal pointing exactly back towards my last observation…one hit anywhere in the water jacket of the aforementioned Merlin and you were making power for the next few minutes… then your bearings overheated and you were in a glider now…hundreds of miles inside axis lines!
On the big radials you could have three cylinders blown off and still be flying, on reduced power, hundreds of miles to an allied aerodrome!

The Unique arched eye-brow windscreen gone unibrow and fold-up board wing tip floats tell all. The basis for this Kit was a G-21 Grumman "Goose" but with the lines of the Grumman Widgeon. The engines are probably T6 Turbo's This would give better performance at slightly greater horse power and vastly greater weight savings and safety per engine over a radial.
The nice thing is that you get the best of all the Grumman designs in one amphibian, without the higher cost and need to buy, strip, mod and rebuild a Goose.

Plans are being produced to 3-D print these planes as electric powered. They will be very nice types of vessels and damage resistant with a non-stop range.
The New World process by Omnijet Ind. can complete them on printer tables with the wing components and super 100 mph motor yachts complete also.
