It's not so much about the PERFECTION of these voices as much as it's about how similar he can make them sound as he transitions from character to character. He was making a point about how his voice can adapt to pick up on the subtleties between celebrities. No, he's not going to be perfect. You can't do 95 impressions without at least ONE of them sounding lackluster. That's the nature of impressionism. JAT is a fantastic voice-actor, and he's actually one of the few voiceover artists who got me interested in the craft. And I feel bad for him, because he's ridiculously ambitious, disciplined, and organized (let's see YOU try to change voices on a time WHILE ALSO following along with a strictly choreographed slideshow animation), and has talent on top of that. He really moved me as Tidus from Final Fantasy X and as I started to hear him in more things, I was inspired to pursue voice-acting as a career. He really was blessed with stupendous vocal chords and I think a lot of the critical comments below are just negative people nitpicking because they aren't able to grasp the level of talent necessary to pull this kind of act off. Not sure how often you check your comments, James, but I'm blown away at how well-organized this was. Would love to see more posts from you about voices and any insight you have. :)
ChaseFace Why is that noteworthy? Seems sort of like ppl are reacting because they recognize the subject of each attempt. I feel like I'm shitting on the guy, but I'm really not. He's fine. I just see comments where ppl are blown away and want to show them Kevin Pollack's old HBO special.
ChaseFace because of ppl like him and ray chase and robbie daymond,im very inspired to pursue acting as career they are truly amazing and respectable ppl
This guy is amazing with the speed he changes from voice to voice. Everyone saying he missed some of them, my gosh did you not see how fast he was changing from one to the other, gosh to show you someone is going to find something wrong with everything.
Sure it was great that he was able to do so many so fast... but most were off, and pretty terrible. So he should slow it down, and do things right. Because, if the pictures were not up there you'd have no idea on 99% of them.
razorbackfan that's exactly what he was trying to demonstrate. He had to change and alter his voice 90+ times in 5 mins. Of course they're not going to be spot on because 1) they're impressions and 2) he was altering or changing his voice every 2-3 seconds. Everyone should try doing that. Easier said than done, I bet.
Very impressive. He did miss a few or were so quick it was hard to pick up. It's impossible to be spot on with all of them with the range he went through. Every impressionist has some that are stronger than others. Still amazing.
All of the people in here complaining that his impressions weren't always 100% accurate, you DO realize he just ran through 95 different impressions in under 6 minutes, right? Seriously, people don't want to admit to being impressed by anything anymore. It's so much easier to just be negative and badmouth one another.
Timothy Falcone You do realize that he knew the exact order of characters to a T and that he went through this process of rehearsal at least 100 💯 times, and IF NOT well then he better for future presentations because im sorry but there's no exuse for missing 30 % of them a mile off. The rest were fantastic for sure 👍
I know right? Every video now, I see nothing but people saying, "Really? This is amazing?" "This is decent, at best." "I could do better than that, it's not hard." "I was expecting a lot more from this." I swear, nothing impresses them!
You guys are jokers. This guy rocks and he's right. He's only giving you an IMPRESSION of each of these characters/actors, not an in-depth performance of them. Fwiw, I'm an actor and I love to criticize the shit out of every actor and actress but this guy deserves a lot of kudos...
I love how everyone in the comments thinks this guy sucks. You try doing that many impressions without spending time to actually get into said character. If they gave him at least 5 minutes to do one of them he would be spot on. Just watch the Clone Wars. I didn't even know it was him until I looked at the cast on IMDB.
Doesn't matter. You don't have to be better or as good at something in order to complain, that makes no sense. You can tell he's not doing these very similar.
absolutely amazing...not everyone was spot on but damn look how fast he switches between them. give him 2 or 3 minutes for each of these and he would be so spot on. but nonetheless truly amazing!!!

He was ok. Some were good, some honestly weren't that great. I may not be able to do better, but I also haven't claimed I could, nor did I go on stage to show off a talent that I'm mediocre at.
These were great,. I don't see why anyone would bother with saying that not all of them were 100% accurate because not only did he go through 95 different voices in under 10 minutes, but it's because of that that he wasn't able to be *100%* accurate. You need to have a little time to get completely into character to do them perfectly. He went through them quickly but even so he did them so well that if you knew who the voices belong to, you'd know who he was doing right away. Even professional voice actors who do a certain voice all the time need to go through at least a little preparation to get into character before doing some recording. Many professional athletes have a similar thing where they do a little routine before going out and doing what they're best at. Give the man some credit and acknowledge his talent before you nitpick about how not every voice was 100% accurate. Since, again, he did *95* voices in a row in under 10 minutes and took no breaks between any of them.
I was here for this and it was so cool. He did all the Family Guy voices at the start and it was cool and then they did a live reading from the Clone Wars show. Sucks they don't do it anymore.
Think of it like this. Say you have an array of guns before you. You need to shoot 95 different enemies with 95 of those guns in 6 minutes or so and you just have to get them decently. Will you be completely accurate every single time? No, between setting up and aiming then firing, you won't be perfect with your shots. Given a bit more time with each one, you'll be much more accurate. Now switch the word guns with voices and enemies with critics
+pecosRoy Well, after all, it's only my opinion. I'd rather hear 12 perfect impressions than 95 imperfect impressions. Bringing up my own achievements for comparison adds no value to this discussion. I'm making no claims here.

Realize that when we're in front of a mic for an extended time for a recorded show, we are MUCH more able to access the nuances of the character voices to bring them to less one-lined, and total fruition. Bravo, James Arnold Taylor! Continued success, and I look forward to playing /working with you on the mic, someday soon. ~G2
What I found most amazing is not "good" or "bad" he was in the precise remake of the voice, but the way he was able to shift so fast between so many different ones. That takes amazing skill.
OMG! That was flipping amazing. All those impressions, so close together, and tied into each other in a hilarious fassion. I wanted to laugh but couldn't because I was so glued to the performance, and if I laughed I'd miss one.
Wow! I think this was so amazing! I don't understand why "everyone" hated his impressions. It's pretty hard to do so many different voices and so many voice impressions was spot on imo. Okay I gotta admit that there were few voices that wasn't that good but still I respect his acting.
This genius also voiced tidus from final fantasy ten. It's not how much he sounds like them, it's how hee imitated them his way. He still sounded like them and his vast ability to do thousands of voices makes Him one of The best.
Even if he isn't good at all the impression, the fact that he was able to transition between all of them in just 5 minutes and the range of his voice and pitch and sounds are quite impressive! ~G2
I was at this show. Glad I could find this clip again. Remembered it all these years later
Come back so many times to watch this over the years. Someone give that man an Oscar
Jesus fuck..... That was impressive and intense at the same time.
Awesome performance! 👌🏼
And it’s so fast paced that you need to watch it again! 😄 Wow!
This dude came to my university l, he didn't do impressions though, he talked about how he was a voice actor and did some bootleg ass hypnotist act
This is one of my all time favorite voice impression videos and I have seen many.
The ladder of voice representative artistry. .wonderful.
Dude you're freaking insanely awesome!
Again this is why I love James Arnold Taylor, he's a REALLY good voice actor!!
I've seen this so many times and it always gets me, you are a legend sir. Keep doing what you do best.
The range of the voices is more impressive than the accuracy of the impressions.
James Arnold Taylor is so creative, flexible in his voice control and projection.
He is brilliant.
THIS BOY DID AN IMPRESSION OF FRANK DOING AN IMPRESSION OF JOHN MADDEN
wow James is one hell of a voice actor he's amazing at all the voices :) I'm speechless watching
Damn that’s one tough act to follow. He nailed some of them, but the idea of bridging voices from one character to the next was a brilliant idea.
This is incredible. I didn't know he was this talented!
absolutely amazing talent, accuracy in understanding all those differences, truly amazing and you're so young
I have been doing voices my whole life and I just began to try to pursue it to some extent and this is just great!
It's stuff like this that gives so much respect for what these people do
The skill this takes is just something else, the tonal and accent shifts, most impressive.
They're not all perfect, but most are damn close! And the change-ups and especially the logical progression are amazing.
Ever since you did the voice of Tidus, you have been my fave voice actor. Also love how you did the voice of Iceman in Xmen Legends 2: Apocalypse.
Never heard pf This guy specifically...
But he is Amazing!
This is so good but what else should I expect from such a talented VA
Wow! I think this was so amazing! I don't understand why "everyone" hated his impressions. It's pretty hard to do so many different voices and so many voice impressions was spot on imo. Okay I gotta admit that there were few voices that wasn't that good but still I respect his acting.
why is star wars music playing in the backround?
'Star' wars
It’s the Rogue One Extra background music
And This is why this guy is one of my favorite actors, EVER.
This man is beyond talented, Troy Baker and Nolan North can eat their hearts out ❤
This guy is amazing. He would be a huge success at kids' parties, doing all those cartoon voices.
Most of those were spot-on. Good job.
This was hilarious, keep up the good work :)
I love voice actors. They're fucking wonderful
That was awesome. Must be something hearing it live.
man, you are AMAZING!!!!! keep up the fantastic work !!
This genius also voiced tidus from final fantasy ten. It's not how much he sounds like them, it's how hee imitated them his way. He still sounded like them and his vast ability to do thousands of voices makes Him one of The best.
IMPRESSIVE.
a good reminder that we're all human, and more similarities than differences.
Even if he isn't good at all the impression, the fact that he was able to transition between all of them in just 5 minutes and the range of his voice and pitch and sounds are quite impressive! Yes, maybe his impressions were off, but he went through A LOT of celebrities in just 5 minutes and that to me is impressive
Wow! He is so talented!
Never heard someone attempt an Andre The Giant impression before. Super cool!
