@cpmf2112 we've already filmed for The Two Towers theatrical version. We will watch The Return of the King extended version! I've never seen that one myself. -Tabby
@@jamespetersen6288 What if there was an extended cut of The Matrix? It would not be The Matrix as we know it, is not the perfect version. But The Matrix is exactly how it should be. Theatrical LOTR is exactly how LOTR was meant to be.
Sam calls him Mr. Frodo because the Gamgees had been servants to the Bagginses for several generations. Sam was Frodo's gardener. Thus, his manner of addressing him was both appropriate and endearing.
Maddy needs to know that every time she sees a likeness between LotR and Harry Potter it is because Tolkien wrote his book years before Rowling wrote HP and his book inspired a huge number of fantasy books that followed after. For instance, the author of Game of Thrones thanked him humbly for his inspiration but Rowling never admitted that she 'stole' so many ideas from LotR - the similarities are amazing - and this really annoys me because people who have watched HP first do not give Tolkien the credit he deserves. Tolkien was born in 1892 and went through all the horrors of fighting in the trenches of WW1. His story about comradeship, courage, perseverance and facing up to horrific trials are all a reflection of what he experienced then and, although a fantasy, he was writing for adults. He became a famous professor of English and philology at Oxford University and his writing is sublime whereas Rowling's is pedestrian. However, children like her stories and I would like to thank her for encouraging so many to read - some of them picking up a book for the first time in their lives.
@@DoubleXpressoReacts I'm looking forward to watching you enjoy the rest of this trilogy. I'm old enough to have known a man who was taught by Tolkien at Oxford. I asked to shake his hand and then went home and told my three teenagers to shake my hand too. After they had done so, I told them that they had just shaken the hand of someone who had shaken the hand of a man who had shaken the hand of Tolkien, LOL! They were quite thrilled.
Not only did Tolkien's work influence virtually every fantasy book that followed, it also influenced the creation of the Dungeons and Dragons game that appeared in 1974. He was also one of the earlier environmentalists, as you'll see more completely in the second movie.
The Lord of the Rings was written in stages between 1937 and 1949. It is one of the best-selling books ever written, with over 150 million copies sold. The three volumes were published in 1954-55. So LOTR is not *_“very Harry Potter-like”,_* as some reactors say; rather, the Harry Potter series (as well as Game of Thrones and many more franchises) are built upon the mythology laid down in Tolkien’s masterful epic. This is not particularly directed at you all; I try to put this comment in every LotR reaction. Thank you for sharing this with us!

I strongly recommend watching the next movies with subtitles, these movies throw a lot of information and names in different languages and it's very easy to miss them without subtitles. With that said, I re-read the books recently and I always encourage everyone to do so, don't let the size intimidate you as the story is wonderful and it's full of rich details and poetry that these movies could not express the same way.
2000s is my favourite decade for movies since the 80s. They still used film and applied cgi sparingly, which gave movies a very unique feel, that short period between all practical vs digital, and LotR is a prime example.
Extended scenes & their importance: 1• Frodo/Sam's first meeting with the elves, providing context for Valinor and the elves journey there, as referenced throughout the films and seen at the end of the Return of the King(connects to the passing of the elves in the beginning of their leaving the shire when Frodo and Sam are near the Old Forest by the Shire which leads them to eventually bumping into Merry And Pippin! (An epic scene with Gandalf in Rivendell was also removed as well.) 2. Aragorn singing the Lay of Luthien, providing a parallel between the events of the Beren and Luthien and Aragorn's relationship with Arwen of which every reactor channel I’ve seen makes the connection and it pulls them into a deeper understanding of their relationship every single time. 3. Aragorn kneeling at his mother's grave, giving him some additional backstory for the viewer. 4. Gandalf explaining to Frodo about the corruptive power of the Ring, and how it will strain the Fellowship from the inside, foreshadowing Boromir's downfall. (And the second film ex edition shows big backstory for Boromir so don’t miss out on it) 5. Sam singing a lament for Gandalf, providing more emotional weight to Gandalf's death, referencing the start of the movie and strengthening the connection between him and the Hobbits ( also highlights Tolkien's love of song and poetry in the books). 6. Galadriel giving the gifts to the Fellowship, providing context for their appearance in later films, as well as drawing a parallel between Gimli's gift and the events of the Silmarillion (Fëanor & Galadriel). That’s just the beginning. Including several removed scenes between Aragorn & Galadriel and Aragorn with her husband Celeborn! 7• also the opening explaining Hobbits & their culture to the viewers, so they have a better understanding of these peoples we will be following which also was the direct full chapter called Concerning Hobbits.
I just wanted to say that there’s a whole elvish language that Tolkien wrote and Arwen (Liv Tyler) became fluent in. Her and Orlando and Aragorn spoke elvish here (as did Galadriel and other elves). So beautiful. Good reaction ladies!
The book describes the Hobbit's feet as having thick leathery soles and the tops of their feet were covered in thick curly hair just like the hair on their heads. This is why they do not need to wear shoes. However, they are not described as over sized or exceptionally large. The film maker chose to make them appear large because big feet helps make the Hobbits look smaller and short. And most artists depict the feet with little hair or show it as thin, wispy body hair rather than the thick and luxurious hair it should be. So, in the book it's normal sized feet covered in thick curly hair.
Wonderful and respectful reaction of this classic masterpiece. You have barely begun on a long journey that just gets better as the story evolves and the characters grow on you. Looking forwards to your reaction of all 3 movies and maybe the Hobbit trilogy as well
@rayryeridge3313 thank you! The only other one that won't be an extended version is Two Towers. We've already filmed Maddy's reaction to the theatrical version.
J.R.R Tolkien (OG of all Authors) was a veteran of the First World War & other battles such as The Battle Of Somme etc. his works of art were to give back to the England as a form of restoring lost mythologies that he himself was a master of since he was a top professor of philology at Oxford. He did ALOT of his writing while in the trenches during WWI during small “breaks” while down in those trench forts built into the ground. And while he eldest son was in the Second World War; his Lord Of The Rings writings was strictly created above all else to give his eldest something to read while stationed wherever he was stationed. I forgot that part. They sent letters back and forth about it all the time. He was also the one and only son that actually protected his fathers legacy and work. A lot of his other work were put together BY his son after his father passed away. It’s well worth to react to the documentary behind the scenes film the director and crew and cast created together as well as the interview with the son Christopher Tolkien who you get to sort of enjoy a nice indoor and outdoor chat for like what came to about 1-2 hours of wonderful footage from an era that really must not be forgotten. His work shed a light on things like The Finnish Kalevala, Norwegian Elder Edda, The Welsh Mabinogion, The Norwegian Nibelungen, The Indian Bhagvagita & Several Irish Folklore + other Cultural things! The man also restored and translated ancient relics for the governments as one everyone trusted. Much of what’s in our dictionary come from his efforts as well. Anytime he spoke & even posted several comments into the paper as an editorial or response to certain issues as a very involved man for the world and the environment everyone turned their head to listen to him as everyone knew his worth and respected him greatly. His works show how NOT to glorify war; shows in the films if you pay close attention while watching the next films. Sharing what you know now via the after thoughts at the end of the second film! Remember. Extended edition. There is a lot missed out on especially in the second movie regarding Boromir backstory which there is much more in the books but the films WANTED to keep more but the cinemas and Harvey Weinstein literally harangued him into making a “theatrical cut” which is why you have two versions. The real version and the “theatrical cut”. It was all to make more money for the company that is the theatres/cinemas. To get more showings in per day during the year. And believe me. People were camping outside and travelling the country to watch it MORE THAN ONCE. His creations literally lead to inspiring the most currently famous books games & movies we all literally wouldn’t have enjoyed and be touched to our souls core without him and his spiritually connected brilliance. That and he was a philologist professor at Oxford first and foremost which covers so many things. Not just linguistic. The man was a true genius and Jack of all trades but ultimately LOVED the simple life. The inspiration for Lord of the Rings was not any war, but author J.R.R. Tolkien's love of language. Especially Welsh, Finnish and Old English. He lamented the loss of any true English folklore, that was wiped out after the Norman invasion of 1066, so Tolkien wrote many books on these new "legends" he came up with himself. Much of which is centered around three languages he fully developed himself. Two Elven languages and Dwarvish., Númenorean Adúnaic, Black Speech(warped Numenorean and elvish) They all have syntax, vocabularies, and a whole writing system that can be learned as the Tengwar alphabet is moreso to match with the spoken elvish rather than one to one for other country’s alphabet. Hundreds of people worldwide speak elvish fluently. Tolkien did draw upon his personal experience in the trenches of World War ONE, not Two, as inspiration for some parts, most notably, the Dead Marshes that Frodo and Sam and Gollum pass through in The Two Towers. But war was not the inspiration for the entire series. World Of Warcraft. Elder Scrolls, Oblivion, Elden Ring, Skyrim, Harry Potter, Diablo, Zelda, D&D, especially Warhammer + DragonLance and so forth wouldn’t have. Existed without taking giant inspiration from and or completely ripping off from Tolkien. Many great documentaries to react to about him also more about him and AWESOME stuff from the hours & hours of behind the scenes documentaries from the DVDs of the movies which are also on TH-cam & I can send you a playlist to react to from top to bottom on the channel called Pajasek99, FlowState reactions is already posting stuff from the awesome documentaries/BTS content! (I’ll add the extended version of this in your next upload. Please make them at least 2 to 3 parts.) - Let’s explore Gandalf even deeper now. - Tolkien kept the Norse/Finnish/Welsh/Irish mythology alive. Magical rings, Gandalf (Staff elf in old norse and Rohan’s Rohirric Éotheod language.), Gandalfs outfit (Ødin), Gandalfs title 'the grey wanderer' (Ødin), Shadowfaxe (The horses of day and night Rhimfaxe and Skinfaxe), Trolls, elves, dwarves etc. * Ødin had a legendary horse, Sleipnir, who had eight legs and was said to be one of the greatest horses known to the gods. Gandalf had Shadowfax, who had no equal among horses in Middle-earth and could understand the speech of men. * Ødin’s legendary gear-the spear Gungnir and the ring Draupnir-could have influenced Gandalf’s legendary sword Glamdring or, more likely, the magic staff he carries, while the ring possibly influenced Gandalf’s possession of the ring Narya (Sturlson 145). * Gandalf & Ødin both receive new wisdom as a result of sacrifice, as Gandalf is reincarnated after his fight with the Balrog, and Ødin gains power and wisdom after hanging himself on the tree Yggdrasil for nine days (Sigfusson 80-85). * One of the most apparent ways in which Gandalf and Odin are alike is that they both take the shape of an old, grey beggar with a wide-brimmed hat and grey cloak when they wander the mortal world and deal with the inhabitants (Pitts 7). * Gandalf and Ødin are virtually reflections of each other, as can be observed through examining their gear and animal companions, the way they sacrificed themselves and were rewarded with wisdom, and the fact that they walk the earth as old men in tattered clothing. The Renowned Steeds of Gandalf and Ødin: both have renowned horses and staves with magical properties. Ø carries the legendary spear Gungnir, which is said never to miss its mark when thrown (Sturlson 145); however, he also carries it as his staff when he wanders the earth as an old man. In the Poetic Edda, the Valkyrie Sigrdrifa advises Sigurd about the magical application of runes and tells him that there are runes inscribed on the tip of Gungnir (Sigfusson 291). This spear could be a parallel to Glamdring, the sword that was forged for the Goblin wars but is most likely influential to the staff Gandalf carries on his journeys. Strikingly similar to Shadowfax, Odin possesses a legendary horse named Sleipnir, who has eight legs and can run on the ground and through the air at great speeds. This sounds very similar, in some ways, to Tolkien’s description of Shadowfax in The Two Towers, “Shadowfax tossed his head and cried aloud as if a trumpet had summoned him to battle. Then he sprang forward. Fire flew from his feet; night rushed over him” (Tolkien 228). - - The sword Gandalf wielded caused the Balrog’s primordial sword to burst into a rain of molten lava in an almost majestic way. It too belong to high elven king Turgon of the great hidden realm of Gondolin, surrounded by tallest mountains. Named Glamdring; meaning “Foe Hammer”. Gandalf broke the balrog’s unholy weapon. Epic right? His original staff broke when he let some of his true powers show to grant a miracle from his own life force. This is the same thing for how the elves do “magic” Galadriel herself tells Frodo and Sam that things elves do may seem like magic but they don’t really use such a word since they are one with the world, symbiotic with it if the world perished so would they. Just so you know; the balrog and Gandalf fought for 10 days straight. Then eldrich terrors(nameless things) assailed them both and they begrudgingly fought them off together and Gandalf resumed his chase of the balrog up the endless stairs of Dúrin’s Tower where they fought up at the top of ZirakZigil Gandalf was given the ring of fire (Narya) by one of the oldest remaining elves from the first clans to wake beneath the stars before the sun and moon ever existed; at the Cuiviènen river named Círdan. Its best attribute was it raises the spirits of those who wear it. Bolstering internal strength and so forth. He knew it would aid Gandalf in his quest from the Valar and Eru Îlluvatar (the one AllFather) themselves to bolster the spirits of the free peoples of middle earth and to sow seeds of hope within the hearts of Men, Elves and Dwarves alike.
The voice at the beginning is Galadriel - Older than the sun & moon, learned all from ALL the Valar (beyond angels), that was possible to be taught from them. she always knew there was more to know, to learn and more to create and had a drive to visit the homeland of her forefathers. To the hitherlands. Middle Earth. Where the elves truly were meant to live and mentor mankind for thousands of years so men could be fully ready to take the reigns in being the stewards of the world. she’s mainly Vanyar+Teleri. Galadriel is one of the Calaquendi, meaning "Elves of the Light" in Quenya. Some of the earliest Elves to come into existence, the Calaquendi dwelt in Valinor with the gods during the halcyon/zenith Years of the (Two) Trees, which predate even the First Age of Middle-earth. Highly synonymous with the the Vanyar Elves. ❤️ they are closest and most trusted by the Valar. They are the epitome of the truest exalted potential of ElvenKind. There is an entire set of clans of elves with variously different histories depending on when they branched off from the main three. Noldor, Teleri>Sindar (and Vanyar (of which Galadriel is of this branch more than her Noldorin side.) She is of the Calaquendi. Means The elves of light in Quenya. Some of the earliest Elves to come into existence, the Calaquendi dwelt in Valinor with the gods during the halcyon/zenith Years of the (Two) Trees, which predate even the First Age of Middle-earth. They are the exalted living ideal version of what the elves were meant to be like in this version of the world before Melkor/Morgoth’s poisonous malice poisoned and damaged the world to where it’s been slowly bleeding it’s magic away for thousands of years. It’s why everything is dying outside of Lothlórien & Rivendell. The rest of the elves are Nandor, Silvan, Falathrim which I think are those of the Falmari… Umanyar, & Avari & more. Moriquendi are the original elves long before ever living in Valinor. Waking to the stars by the Cúivienèn River. The elves origins is shrouded in mist. Just like their ethereal existence that’s connected to the earth itself and its fate. Oromë (one of the Valar.) called them Eldar, that means "People of the Stars", the Elves that chose to follow him, because when they awoke the stars were the only lights in the sky and for this reason they loved Varda and her creations. The stars were in their eyes. Much like the lady of light!
Fun reaction! Always good to see a new person watch this amazing series. Also glad to see other wheel of time fans. Looking forward to 3rd season in March!
Watching you guys look at this movie is like me being in the movies with my best friend. She's like your sister. She will ask question after question after question when looking at a movie, and I don't have any answers for her...lol!😂😊 A lot of. The other movies you mentioned have pulled from the Lord of the Rings books. They were written many years before many of these other authors were even born.🙂
Just clarification the idea of Professor Dumbledore most likely came based off Gandalf which is why there’s a similarity to both characters. LOTR franchise was created in 50s, long before JK Rowling was born which was not until 1964. Yes, both first films of LOTR and HP came out same year 2001 but this franchise is still the father of almost all fantasy action/adventure based lore films and tv series that came after even if HP first movie was released Nov 2001 and LOTR on Dec 2001. HP franchise didn’t start until mid-90s (1997) followed by the films, I should know since I was born 1991.
The Nazgul or the nine that are searching for Frodo are neither alive or dead. They are bound to the one ring and cannot be destroyed as long as the ring exists.
Merry and Pippin are both young hobbits. Pippin is in his "tweens", the reckless years betwen 20 and coming of age at 33. Merry, his cousin is about 34. Hobbits are very parochial and rarely leave the shire, even to travel to Bree, which is a town that has a population of Humans and Hobbits and stands just outside the "Bounds" (Border) of the Shire. So Hobbits have very little experience of the outside world and are quite naive. Frodo and Sam are both a bit older (in the Books Frodo is a far more Sober 51 when he leaves the Shire. He is 33 when Bilbo leaves - Gandalf was gone for 17 years trying to find out about the ring.) The films imply it was much less time - Months to a year.
I have no problem with you breaking it into 2 parts. In fact I prefer it because it means we get to see more reaction scenes and hear your thoughts as your processing things. Just PLEASE do the extended versions!!! You are going to miss backstories for Boromier, Aragorn and Gollum if you don't
Second breakfast? Dinner? I'll have chicken-fried steak smothered in flour gravy, mashed potatoes drenched in btown gravy, green beans, corn on the cob, fried okra, and a tall cold glass of ice tea to wash it all down with. 😉
Your accents are fantastic! I'm not unaware of what, I guess, a southern US accent sounds like (despite being a pasty white Swede), but I felt you hit all the boxes and then some I wasn't even expecting. 🥰
I can never understand never watching or only watch them once. I have watched them too many times to count same as almost every movie I have. 15:57 in the book Saruman the White head of the order of the five Astari (wizzards) when revealing his change to siding with Sauron is no longer Saruman the White, his robe becomes multiple colored and he calls himself "Saruman of Many Colors" he ceases to be Saruman the White.
do the extended version and for god's sake upload them in one shot. Part one and two is a really good way to make sure a lot of people yawn and don't bother with it
@jdspencer60 I understand. The next 2 films in the trilogy will not be in 2 parts. Editing is still new to me. And taking on a 3 hr movie was a first for me.
All 17 rings were meant to go to elves (300-500years of infiltration & deception down the drain.) but Mairon of the Maiar(primordial angelic beings in simple terms as they are beyond angels) disguised as a high elf named Annatar when he came to the elves pretending to be an emissary from Valinor on behalf of the Valar so it makes sense how alluring the ring is and how strong it’s pull on people is. (A bit too instant in the movies though) - Galadriel soon saw right through him and especially when after speaking with him regarding not remembering him when in Valinor long ago where she learned from all the Valar thanks to being dominantly Vanyar/Teleri side over her Noldorin side where she gleaned from that encounter that she did not study under Aulë the Vala with any elf named Annatar ! But later named Sauron by the elves as a cursed name meaning “the abhorred” and deceiver! Similar to his former name as Gorthaur. (Correction - The Sindar Elves in Beleriand gave Mairon the name Gorthaur, meaning "dread abomination," while others called him Sauron, meaning "the abhorred" or "the abominable," a play on his original name. Gorthaur was when he ruled in the first age as lord of all werewolves in isle of werewolves called Taur Ín Gaurhoth) After all of this, The three elven rings were made in secret without Saurons touch upon them thanks to Celebrimbor! Remember Gandalf before he became Gandalf was the same species of entity Sauron used to be!! Wow hey? The Rings in this case, would have lost their powers eventually due to the lack of the One Ring and possibly because they were designed to defeat evil, & evil in the form of Sauron had been defeated twice already in the past. The Three Elven Rings served their purpose for a long time. Two out of three of them had several different bearers Unlike the other Rings, the main purpose of the Three is to "heal and preserve", as when Galadriel used Nenya to preserve her realm of Lothlórien over long periods. The Elves made the Three Rings to try to halt the passage of time, or as Tolkien had Elrond say, "to preserve all things unstained". There is problem here with the Rings, the Three were supposed to be never touched by Sauron and that's why they were not corrupting…Sauron had not taken part in their making which made the Three more 'pure' unsullied by his dark power, unlike the Nine and Seven Rings! But Sauron in the show touched the very material they were made of!!! So technically he could have tainted them and corrupted! Even appendices of Lot tell us the order of making the rings, so they didn't even need the righs to more detailed writings in UT or Silmarillion: 1200 Sauron endeavours to seduce the Eldar. Gil-galad refuses to treat with him; but the smiths of Eregion are won over. The Númenoreans begin to make permanent havens. c. 1500 The Elven-smiths instructed by Sauron reach the height of their skill. They begin the forging of the Rings of Power. c. 1590 The Three Rings are completed in Eregion. c. 1600 Sauron forges the One Ring in Orodruin. He completes the Barad-dûr. Celebrimbor perceives the designs of Sauron. 1693 War of the Elves & Sauron begins. The Three Rings are hidden." 'Did you not hear me, Gloin?' said Elrond. 'The Three were not made by Sauron, nor did he ever touch them. But of them it is not permitted to speak. So much only in this hour of doubt I may now say. They are not idle. But they were not made as weapons of war or conquest: that is not their power. Those who made them did not desire strength or domination or hoarded wealth, but understanding, making, and healing, to preserve all things unstained. These things the Elves of Middle-earth have in some measure gained, though with sorrow. But all that has been wrought by those who wield the Three will turn to their undoing, and their minds and hearts will become revealed to Sauron, if he regains the One." - The 3 Elven Rings are not susceptible to “The One Ring” in any direct way.. They’re only tied by fate to lose their power if Sauron is defeated completely & absolutely. As they were made by the elves and as always they make things for a purpose and pour their literal spirit into things they create. So if Sauron is defeated then the three rings power will fade and basically become almost useless or diminished versions of their original design since by this era magic has bled from the world by a huge degree thanks to Morgoth’s poisoning the world itself with his very essence that he poured into it. Called The Long Defeat By The Elves and The Men Of The West.
I love the movies even though they don't quite adapt everything straight across. (I know it would be impossible). For example the ages of the Hobbits. Frodo is 50, (which isn't too old considering hobbits often live well past 100 so approaching middle aged. Samwise is 38, Meriadoc (Merry) is 36, and Peregrin (Pippin) is only 28 so he's like a hobbit teenager.
Just do what Aussie Dillon did with his Wife Tania regarding reacting to the top extended scenes of fellowship of the ring by RichieNicksGeeking before uploading two towers...
I just wanna say 1st off ladies I love the video Great content, Second you never read the books So I'm gonna fill you in on a little bit of lore that a lot of people don't understand about lord of the rings And don't worry it's not a spoiler No 1Can destroy the ring! No 1 even the person who created it Cannot destroy it That's how strong it's will is, So before you get mad at anybody for not destroying the ring Just remember No 1Can destroy the ring Is that powerful It is that evil Have fun with the rest of the movies ladies I look forward to watching
They definitely seem the type to love ROP and totally buy the propaganda hook line and sinker!! If they knew the horror stories even from the Amazon workers they’d publicly disavow Amazon with the rest of us.
To all TRUE Lord of the Rings fans (those who love both the books and the movies), Amazon's *_Rings of Power_* is an abomination, and a continuing insult to Tolkien.
You should watch season 2 it's quite entertaining. Took me 2 years and a half to finish episode 1 of first season, now im hooked. Can't wait for season 3@DoubleXpressoReacts
@@marksardakowski4323 Amazon waited until Christopher Tolkien died early in the production of its DumpsterFire (before going against what they promised), his "demand" was that Amazon could use the Appendices to make the show, but they couldn't change the lore. As soon as Christopher died, Amazon delayed the show for reshoots, fired Tom Shippey who was the lead Tolkien scholar & friend of Tolkien himself; they wanted Jackson on the team. PeterJackson asked for the scripts then they ghosted him. Then later when asked about it he basically told them good luck.. You can blame this garbage show on Simon Tolkien (who Amazon used to get around all the laws and protections set around the estate and JRR Tolkien’s legacy), its stink doesn't reach Christopher. Firstly: they merge events (from thousands of years of history & build up towards several events but puts them all into one moment as if it’s happening in the same few years without time jumps or anything.) Guyladriel the murderous one dimensional girlboss heroine version of Galadriel never met Miriel(one of Aragorn’s ancestors) because, as an elf, she would have been sacrificed to Morgoth by the King's Men. The hobbits and Gandalf never met in the 2nd Age because Gandalf was in Valinor till the 3rd Age. Miriel wasn’t even born yet. She was born 2000 years before the rings of power era. A precursor to other events to come in later ages. Also Elendil would never say “forget the past and toss it aside.” That’s the whole thing about the Faithful Númenoreans!!! Faithfulness to what’s good. To their elf friends. To the Valar, to Eru Îlluvatar(The One AllFather), The way Galadriel acts like Fëanor when he isn’t seeing straight such as how she threatened bloodshed in the highest court of Númenor! The way she isn’t tall, the way she fights rookies doesn’t make her look strong. Should have had her spar with Elendil who was greater than Miriel in many ways even as far as lineage goes too! (Canon has her as a grandson or son so…) Have her spar with those greater Numenoreans and let the rookies laugh at their masters being vested by an elf woman holding back from actually hurting them! Now that’d be cool. (Remember. Their whole mantra was to write the book Tolkien never wrote”. Also watch them fake super fans. And then watch their social media that had nothing Tolkien on it ever. Like…. It’s painfully obvious what’s going on here. Same formula towards other titles. They’re just trying to bank on the brand of which that’s the only reason they did this. Just watch Peter Jackson’s new movie coming out and the War of the Rohirim. You’ll see that Brian Cox is involved In it along with Philipa Boyens as well as Actor for Èowyn named Miranda Otto. Fran Walsh I also believe is Involved as well! Watch George The Giant Slayer’s first video regarding the war of the rohirrim. It was beautiful. And he has a wonderful soul too. When I say first video. I don’t mean very first uploaded video though lol. ) There was also no Adar. No poppy. No Nori. No fake Gandalf who literally didn’t come the way he was supposed to which introduces Círdan. And since they screwed up the themes and lore so badly they have to dig in their heels. & they are also being sued by multiple people and groups and companies actually. The 3 rings were forged after the 1 ring, not first. They were not in his sights or touch nor did he even know about them. And also guyladriel wasn’t a murderous Fëanorean either. But the note of the elven rings: They were made last and without the knowledge of Sauron. His touch never got to them, nor his malice poured into them. Made in secret so that whole story is thrown out the window as well. And making them first and having the obvious Sauron figure who wasn’t an elf to just be there when they’re making them and have his eye show up in the forge which wasn’t even the worst of it. The greatest of elven smiths still around which is Celebrimbor doesn’t even know what alloying is. Not to mention all their environmental scandals on top of bad CGI stuff. Full of copy past crowds (I wish I was joking), and plagiarism of several films up the wazoo. It’s also getting sued by several people and groups. So many 1 to 1 shots of season 1 and game of thrones and other films that it’s not even funny anymore lol. I’ll also remind you that they just ran an old sick horse til it died of cardiac arrest and then only had a ten min coffee break to loosely honour this horse. Not to mention Tolkien loved animals in a deep way. They also have been causing environmental damage one of which being King Charles ancient forest to make a set. It’s scandal after scandal. And the fire in studio that took four hours to put out with firemen for yet another example. (Note; Isildur being on this show in the timeline these hazily depicted events would mean Isildur is over 3000 years old by the time of the last alliance that began the third age when it ended. Lol. That doesn’t make sense now does it?). So many people made videos over the last two or three years alone regarding the series got them to read the books and then they got very confused first. Gorgeous? Copy paste crowds used everywhere? Plots that make zero sense and defy the laws of middle earth with every step & breath taken? Plagiarisms galore as they steal from many folks ontop of making mediocre versions of helms deep? None of the book stories were actually in the series. They turned Galadriel into a very unlikable character when she’d command respect and love and awe just by standing in a room with a group of fill in the blank. AngryMexa videos are awesome and highly balanced and with the tech and film background he has ends up providing deep insight. Such as the comparison to Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon to ROP!
None of that was in the series which needed to be set up early
Amazon waited until Christopher Tolkien died early in the production of its DumpsterFire (before going against what they promised), his "demand" was that Amazon could use the Appendices to make the show, but they couldn't change the lore. Nope. Biggest Tolkien fan out there is JustSomeGuy and he laid out each scene and literally zoomed in and out of every battle, Eregion for example. Which no place is no life or depth! No history. Nothing. Elves are now just Spock from Star Trek. Just like every other human. Amazon timeline is all wrong. The 3 were forged by Celebrimbor AFTER the 1 Ring was made. Made in response to the threat of the One gaining dominion over the lesser rings and their bearers. We haven't got there yet. Elronds concerns over Sauron controlling the Three makes NO SENSE in this timeline. That particular threat has not materialised yet. The One Ring doesn't exist yet. This is CRUCIAL, it's not a minor oversight. Sauron is not even aware of the Three until he creates the One. They've wrote themselves into a corner and are hoping people don't notice. Please! Don't they understand Tolkien fans at all haha? Probably not because they certainly don't understand Tolkien. Many events from this show don’t ever reveal that they’re indeed separated by 500 to 1000 years a pop. It wasn’t happening all within the same 5 lol. - Remember, Amazon's 2nd age is not Tolkien. It’s a perverted vision of what should have been, if the show leaders & chief writers had stayed true to the original canon. but we both know, fellow Tolkien Lover, that this is an absolute violation of the vision & canon that the great Professor laid down. Really what our speculations Should be is how far from or how deep are they going to take their perversions & distortions. Amazons Rings of Power are a catastrophic failure. It's a bunch of mumbo jumbo BS that is meant for the uninitiated! It is eye candy at best........ at best! It is a tragedy what Bezos has done with this sacred work! Tolkien rolls over endlessly in his grave, and I weep endlessly as well. A sign of the times my friend, a sign of the times! part 2 - The timeline presented in Amazon's Rings of Power series does not align with the original Second Age canon created by J.R.R. Tolkien. The series makes several changes and combines events that are separated by hundreds to thousands of years in the original source material, leading to inconsistencies and contradictions. Many Tolkien fans and purists have criticized the show for its departure from the original vision and disrespect for the lore created by the professor. The series is seen as a disappointment and a sign of the times, with some fans even claiming that it is a violation of the sacred works of Tolkien. Sacred because so many peoples lives were saved and transformed by all of his scholarly work. ❤

It is great watching you guys, but the filter you used makes it really hard to watch along. I hope you guys use a better one for the rest of the trilogy. 😁
RIP to the actors that live forever in the heart of middle-earth including the ones still alive & kicking but have chosen not to return such as Hugo Weaving (age 64 years old) which his reasons are understandable with a few others but in my opinion I take “experience over new blood” any day (I don’t care what others think). Some most actors that fit certain characters CANNOT be replaced by noobs, sorry but not sorry.
Newbies do. Try convincing someone who doesn't love the idea of watching something to watch a much longer version of it. Start small. Then go back and add to it with a much greater respect and love for the content.
Tolkien was written in 1954. The movies were in 2000. Everything you think was stolen from classics were in fact the frauds. GOT and Harry Potter made their thieving authors billionaires. Rings of Power is a cheap ripoff that bears no resemblance to Lord of the RIngs.

@cpmf2112 we've already filmed for The Two Towers theatrical version. We will watch The Return of the King extended version! I've never seen that one myself. -Tabby
Especially for a rewatch. There is so much info. Many essential scenes that I can't believe they cut. Changes the flavor of many scenes.
@jamespetersen6288 I'm excited! I wish I had watched the extended version for Two Towers.
@@jamespetersen6288 What if there was an extended cut of The Matrix? It would not be The Matrix as we know it, is not the perfect version. But The Matrix is exactly how it should be. Theatrical LOTR is exactly how LOTR was meant to be.
@@DestinyAwaits19 No lol "Regarding the Shire" proves you wrong.
Most modern fantasy including Harry Potter just rearranges the furniture in tolkien's attic
agreed
Love this!
@diamondlil7819 thanks for the background. It's a shame she never admitted to using elements in HP because the similarities are evident.
@@DoubleXpressoReacts I'm looking forward to watching you enjoy the rest of this trilogy. I'm old enough to have known a man who was taught by Tolkien at Oxford. I asked to shake his hand and then went home and told my three teenagers to shake my hand too. Not only did Tolkien's work influence virtually every fantasy book that followed, it also influenced the creation of the Dungeons and Dragons game that appeared in 1974. He was also one of the earlier environmentalists, as you'll see more completely in the second movie.
Tell your sister we welcome her officially in the family. At the end she will be one of us
The Lord of the Rings was written in stages between 1937 and 1949.

@@chefskiss6179 thank you!
The extended editions explain much more. Worth watching. Including the first.
Make sure you watch the extended versions here on out, very much worth it.
(An epic scene with Gandalf in Rivendell was also removed as well.)
(And the second film ex edition shows big backstory for Boromir so don’t miss out on it)
The only bad thing about not watching the extended editions are some context is not left in the theatrical versions.
This is my favorite movie of my life. I could explain every single second why and how. I hope you might gonna watch extended version next time.
In the books, it was 17 years between the party and their arrival at Rivendell.
Wow!
the quest begins 16 years after the party.
At the beginning neither Bilbo nor Gandalf knew the true nature of the Ring.
Tolkien created The Lord of the Rings DECADES before Jo Rowling was born and created Harry Potter.
Viggo (Aragorn) bought the horse that Arwen's stunt double rode in the chase to Rivendale and gifted it to that stuntwoman!
Two Elven languages and Dwarvish., Númenorean Adúnaic, Black Speech(warped Numenorean and elvish)
They all have syntax, vocabularies, and a whole writing system that can be learned as the Tengwar alphabet is moreso to match with the spoken elvish rather than one to one for other country’s alphabet.
Please make them at least 2 to 3 parts.)

Let’s explore Gandalf even deeper now.

The sword Gandalf wielded caused the Balrog’s primordial sword to burst into a rain of molten lava in an almost majestic way.
Then eldrich terrors(nameless things) assailed them both and they begrudgingly fought them off together and Gandalf resumed his chase of the balrog up the endless stairs of Dúrin’s Tower where they fought up at the top of ZirakZigil
Gandalf was given the ring of fire (Narya) by one of the oldest remaining elves from the first clans to wake beneath the stars before the sun and moon ever existed; at the Cuiviènen river named Círdan.
I'm really hoping season 3 saves WOT!
Watching you guys look at this movie is like me being in the movies with my best friend.
She's like your sister. She will ask question after question after question when looking at a movie, and I don't have any answers for her...lol!😂😊
A lot of.
The other movies you mentioned have pulled from the Lord of the Rings books. They were written many years before many of these other authors were even born.🙂
They’re literally twins. Says on their channel
Just found your channel. Good stuff! Keep it up! :)
For someone who knows nothing about this story, your sister is very perceptive and picked up on a lot of things that first time viewers often miss.
4:29 Well, a better pararelism would be Melkor, The evil himself.
Careful with the Harry Potter comparisons lol people may get upset 🤣🤣🤣
Especially since this came first lol
@@ellingtonGaming it's not our intention to put down LOTR by any means. Maddy is commenting based on content she has seen.
@DoubleXpressoReacts lol I know, hard not to compare if you experienced one before the other. Hope yall enjoy these!
@@ellingtonGaming thank you!
I have no problem with you breaking it into 2 parts. In fact I prefer it because it means we get to see more reaction scenes and hear your thoughts as your processing things. Just PLEASE do the extended versions!!! You are going to miss backstories for Boromier, Aragorn and Gollum if you don't
They already recorded the weinstein theatrical version of two towers sadly.
Second breakfast? Dinner?
I'll have chicken-fried steak smothered in flour gravy, mashed potatoes drenched in btown gravy, green beans, corn on the cob, fried okra, and a tall cold glass of ice tea to wash it all down with. 😉
6:35 Wait till the third movie.
10:00 That´s quite natural in `hobbits´.
Your accents are fantastic! I'm not unaware of what, I guess, a southern US accent sounds like (despite being a pasty white Swede), but I felt you hit all the boxes and then some I wasn't even expecting. 🥰
Southern US! ❤️ thank you for the compliment
Seeing some of these scenes horizontally reversed is wild lol
@@AidanLonergan-bz1cp you can thank copy right 🚨 for that
I can never understand never watching or only watch them once.
11:35 "It's a burden to have it"
Funny you should use those exact words..
do the extended version and for god's sake upload them in one shot. Part one and two is a really good way to make sure a lot of people yawn and don't bother with it
@jdspencer60 I understand. The next 2 films in the trilogy will not be in 2 parts. Editing is still new to me. And taking on a 3 hr movie was a first for me.
@jdspencer60 Dont be so abrasive you come across as a douche
@@DoubleXpressoReacts No. It's perfectly OK to upload in 2 parts, most people do that. Extended is very much recommended.
(A bit too instant in the movies though)
-
Galadriel soon saw right through him and especially when after speaking with him regarding not remembering him when in Valinor long ago where she learned from all the Valar thanks to being dominantly Vanyar/Teleri side over her Noldorin side where she gleaned from that encounter that she did not study under Aulë the Vala with any elf named Annatar !
Gorthaur was when he ruled in the first age as lord of all werewolves in isle of werewolves called Taur Ín Gaurhoth)
After all of this, The three elven rings were made in secret without Saurons touch upon them thanks to Celebrimbor!
Even appendices of Lot tell us the order of making the rings, so they didn't even need the righs to more detailed writings in UT or Silmarillion:
1200
Sauron endeavours to seduce the Eldar. Gil-galad refuses to treat with him; but the smiths of Eregion are won over. The Númenoreans begin to make permanent havens.
c. 1500
The Elven-smiths instructed by
Sauron reach the height of their skill.
They begin the forging of the Rings of Power.
c. 1590
The Three Rings are completed in Eregion.
c. 1600
Sauron forges the One Ring in
Orodruin. He completes the Barad-dûr. Celebrimbor perceives the designs of Sauron.
1693
War of the Elves & Sauron begins.
The Three Rings are hidden."
'Did you not hear me, Gloin?' said Elrond.
But all that has been wrought by those who wield the Three will turn to their undoing, and their minds and hearts will become revealed to Sauron, if he regains the One."
-
The 3 Elven Rings are not susceptible to “The One Ring” in any direct way..
Love your accent.reminds me of Texas 🥓🧇 and New Mexico 🌶️.
Thank you!
How old were you then when you first watched the trilogy?
Our brother told us for years to watch. "Give it a chance" I was 32 😅 it was a few years ago -Tabby
Better late than never
@ Well, it’s easily one of those films, trilogy’s rather, that is great for repeat viewing! 😉
Do I spot a Mr. Sloth in a chair in the back?!
Yes! Even has a little coffee mug
It would be better to just forget season one of Rings of Power than inflict season two on yourself.
@frankethomas1248 good to know! All the ads made me curious to watch the first season
You should watch season 2 it's quite entertaining. Took me 2 years and a half to finish episode 1 of first season, now im hooked. Can't wait for season 3@DoubleXpressoReacts
Did you even watch the second season? They went back to the roots.
@@marksardakowski4323nope. They did not. They went back to their booze and money laundering!
(Canon has her as a grandson or son so…)
Have her spar with those greater Numenoreans and let the rookies laugh at their masters being vested by an elf woman holding back from actually hurting them!
I don’t mean very first uploaded video though lol. )
There was also no Adar. No poppy.
But the note of the elven rings:
They were made last and without the knowledge of Sauron.
Then upset when they found out that nothing of the show was I. The books at all. Only twisted and warped things full of inserted politics and themes that Tolkien was no fan of.
PS they don’t have the rights to the Silmarillion nor anything much of the second age let alone the first. Only the trilogy books and their appendices….
Remember that they also plagiarized tonnes of films in nontasteful instead of true a homage way…
“tempest in me” but when threatening Fëanorean level bloodshed in the court of Númenor was from Cate Blanchett’s Elizabeth role which was done with grace and poise of a veteran actress(which doesn’t even sound like anything those of the great chill house of Finarfin would even act like.
Again it’d be best to put Elrond there due to Elros. But ooook let’s make girlboss do everything. Even if it continues to make zero sense. 😍
fact they downplayed Elendil who’d never say to “forget the past”, Gil-Galad and Finrod is beyond infuriating and not explaining Elwing, Elronds mother beyond just showing her as a swan was pure LOLism. Like. What’s worse is Grandpabimbor…. Let’s not forget good ol’ Guyladriel either. The LOTR version of Star Wars’ Rey! Guyladriel the Female Fëanor without any of his charms and subtleties and wit… just the bloody violent rages…
They lost alot of viewers after their bait and switch behaviour. Hundreds reported shenanigans on their app where it’d force you to watch and episode twice in variously described circumstances. Bribed people left and right with things like that screening. Even the official critics fell asleep.
Many longtime film analysts along with actors and film students/professionals give basic criticism and in depth look at the editing and so forth which causes it to fall flat on its face. Abandons plot left and right. Full of member berries. Just because we got fake Tom Bombadil doesn’t mean we’ll flip onto our backs to play with the jingling keys. Balrog wasn’t awoken until thousands of years later. They’re horridly depicted scenarios which often aren’t canon: were separated by hundreds of years. Some of them by thousands. Not cool. Amazon is known to be corrupt.
Lots of us true LotR fans enjoy the gorgeous Rings of power series. Everyone can decide for themselves, of course.

(Correction - The Sindar Elves in Beleriand gave Mairon the name Gorthaur, meaning "dread abomination," while others called him Sauron, meaning "the abhorred" or "the abominable," a play on his original name. Gorthaur was when he ruled in the first age as lord of all werewolves in isle of werewolves called Taur Ín Gaurhoth)
After all of this, The three elven rings were made in secret without Saurons touch upon them thanks to Celebrimbor!
But all that has been wrought by those who wield the Three will turn to their undoing, and their minds and hearts will become revealed to Sauron, if he regains the One."

The 3 Elven Rings are not susceptible to “The One Ring” in any direct way..
None of that was in the series which needed to be set up early
Amazon waited until Christopher Tolkien died early in the production of its DumpsterFire (before going against what they promised), his "demand" was that Amazon could use the Appendices to make the show, but they couldn't change the lore.
(Canon has her as a grandson or son so…)
Have her spar with those greater Numenoreans and let the rookies laugh at their masters being vested by an elf woman holding back from actually hurting them!
I don’t mean very first uploaded video though lol. )
There was also no Adar. No poppy.
But the note of the elven rings:
They were made last and without the knowledge of Sauron.
What about second breakfast?
The second season of the rings of power is a lot better.

Remember, Amazon's 2nd age is not Tolkien. It’s a perverted vision of what should have been, if the show leaders & chief writers had stayed true to the original canon. but we both know, fellow Tolkien Lover, that this is an absolute violation of the vision & canon that the great Professor laid down.
Really what our speculations
Should be is how far from or how deep are they going to take their perversions & distortions.

Eat well. It's a long way to Mordor!
The sister should stick to harry potter elves, suits her just fine.

Season 2 of "Rings of Power" was better than Season 1.
Its 2025 and somehow people still watch the theatrical versions?
Newbies do. Try convincing someone who doesn't love the idea of watching something to watch a much longer version of it. Start small. Then go back and add to it with a much greater respect and love for the content.
@@DoubleXpressoReacts So now they have to watch a 3-4 hour long movie twice? ok I guess everyone has their own preferences.
Tolkien was written in 1954. The movies were in 2000. Everything you think was stolen from classics were in fact the frauds. GOT and Harry Potter made their thieving authors billionaires. Rings of Power is a cheap ripoff that bears no resemblance to Lord of the RIngs.
Reactors who treat the early 2000s as some technological backwater or otherwise ancient history make me laugh.
@wadehines9971 when exactly did we do that? I gave credit to how well the make up is. I was 12 yrs old when this came out. It's not ancient to me.
At the beginning neither Bilbo nor Gandalf knew the true nature of the Ring.
Tell your sister we welcome her officially in the family. At the end she will be one of us
