Today's tutorial is a beautiful updo that includes a heart parted ponytail, with an accented rope twist as a frame. It is all finished off into a braided bun. The beautiful thing is that you can use heart parts in any number of hairstyle combinations, but we were going more for an older look with this updo, rather than some of the heart ponytails of the past.
Enjoy!
Items Needed: Brush, rat-tail comb, spray bottle, 3 small hair elastics, hairspray and accessory {if desired}.
Time Requirement: 8-10 minutes

Rope twisted heart was my favourite
Can you do styles on different types of hair, and when you start, tell which type it works best for? Because my hair is thick and wavy and this would not work for me and it would be helpful for everyone to know which hair type each hairstyle is for so they do not have to sit there in the morning frustrated with their hair because the style is not meant for their hair type.
I have very thick curly hair and I do rope braids all the time, it's just a matter of practicing and getting the braid down correctly. If you keep trying I'm sure you'll be able to do this hairstyle. :)
Everytime I see the garden sized spray bottle I kinda chuckle just because it's so big...then I remember how many girls live in that house! Maybe not such a bad idea after all!

I agree with Anika 2910 . It can be used for short hair but there will definitely be some strands in the french rope (french rope = rope twist) that you'll need to bobby pin.

makes sense cuz you're adding in hair. regular rope twists/braids you wouldn't add more hair in as you go.

I love this... I am researching lots of valentines hairstyles. I am nanny-ing 2 girls, 6 and 8, and I am only there in the evenings, but the girls love it when I do their hair. Their mom doesn't like to do hair as much, but loves that I can do some things (thanks to CGH) so I try and do things that they can either wear to school the next day or take out and look cute too... are there any Valentines things that could be done the night before and look just as cute the next day??? I love this! I wish I could do it by myself though, that's the only thing with alot of these styles, they often can't really be done on oneself w/out help. Maybe I could just do it without the heart.
