Not many people would read this, but my canary died yesterday 9.07.2017 and I used to show him this video everyday... I feel really depressed and heartbroken. He would sing to this video whenever I showed him it. Remember to check on your canary, even if it's sleeping..
Play this video or get another canary in a separate cage, they will sing to each other. That's how my uncle did it, he had music every day for 10 years.

hello, i knw you may not see this but can someone tell me pls, which breed of canary is in the video, as i also have one very similar, im not sure if its a singing male, as when i play bird song it tries to sing and sometimes just makes a whistle. but another time mat sing alittle bit more. i dont know how old the bird is, but when ibrought him? they said about a year. should i keep playing canary bird song to help him along, or is it female and im wasting my time ? thanking you

Mine's a girl and she chirps and sings(not as good as a male) when the sun comes through our window in the morning. I don't cover her cage because I don't have my lights on too late.
The cage is too small, if it's tame, your doors and windows are closed you can let him fly. It's what I do, just got a female, maybe in a month or two I can let her stretch her wings. My step grandma had a bird room where she would read while the birds enjoyed some freedom. Always go back to their cage for food, toys, water, treats and to sleep.

Probably if you cover their cage, they don't sing until you take the cover off, that's how my uncle's canaries were.
