I originally thought that milking robots seemed impersonal, possibly stressful for the cattle. I’ve watched a fair number of videos now, and all the cattle appear very relaxed with these systems. I guess for me, one of the best features of these systems, the cows can come and go as they please. More and more, I’m thinking these systems could be the better way to go.

I worked on one for just over a year, some of the most relaxed cows I’ve worked with, they’re far more natural for the cow in that they can milk themselves 3, 4, sometimes 5 times a day depending where they are in their lactation
