I just bought a 2020 version with the 300hp. Great review. The other funny thing is this the same marina where I dock my big boat at, small world! It was great to see the boat in the same areas we will be using. We had a Sea-Doo GTX 230. The only problem is we are 2 adults, 2 kids(12 & 10 yo), so we always had to leave 1 behind. I wanted the higher horsepower because I see alot of watersports in my future!
This thing really seems like the perfect beginner/ small lake boat. I think I’d get it with the 300hp engine cause I’d love to go out and fly around in the 60s on a calm morning. Really neat alternative to the sea doo speedster
Great review! My wife and I have a sea doo rxt 300 and love the power was thinking of getting this to haul the grand children around but we would be taking it on the Chesapeake bay but doesn’t sound like it would do well with 2 - 3’ seas.
Nice boat. Nice Panerai. I have the Pam 111, think we have the same watch. Bang up watch. Think I want one of these 165s. Wondering if a cleat could be mounted midship.
You have great taste sir. Yes a cleat could be fitted, you would need to remove the throttle assembly and through bolt it. Port side would be a little more tricky
Great video. I've been thinking about getting one of these. I heard you say Sandusky. I live on Lake Erie and would be using it pretty much strictly in the Lake, probably cruising places like Huron, Vermilion, Sandusky. Would you or have you ever taken it to the islands on the perfect day? Like would you feel comfortable doing so? Thanks.
Yes it’s fine on a flat day. You will spend a lot of time airborne in boat chop though. Also be wary of loading up the bow because you can easily submarine it. Recommend 3 passengers max if your running though. Great fun little boat. My wife is already looking at a 215 which is definitely a lot more boaty. Great fun for pulling up to the beach or sandbar.
mboard31 thank you. I am headed to Ohio next week I will see if I can see a make. Would recommend the scarab one though. I believe the hull is ore drilled for it
In America con Davina e Danica I bought waterproof blue led strips off Amazon, extended the circuit from the courtesy light under the helm and routed the circuit back under the throttle assembly. Then created the led lighting circuit and joined it up.
Sam Field this one is lowest power option 150hp, they do 250hp and 300hp high output versions. I think the latter would be a little overpowered for the hull. The 250hp the sweet spot on this and boat probably capable of mid 50’s speed wise. The Scarab website has a build your own with all the options
@@thebritishboatguy3130 What are your thoughts on size of the boat though, do you think that something like a 215 ID could be better for British weather?
Sam Field if you are using the boat on flat water it is fine. It works well for water sports and running around a flat lake. However it is virtually flat bottomed so does not track straight at all and is airborne most of the time in anything over a 2ft sea so not a sea boat at all. The 215 if you have the funds as it is twice the price would definitely be a more usable option, however still not really a sea boat. Personally my experience having owned several boats on the south coast of England a boat suitable for the sea and coastal waters like the English Chanel where you get close wave formations. 25ft plus is where you can get good use. Lakes however almost anything you choose will work.

I have a house looking over the bay as you come in. Has my Princess back there in 2022. I spend my summers in Sandusky
Just bought this boat for myself and I am super excited ! I want to pull my son wakeboarding , friends skiing and tubing
You will love it, great fun and super easy to own. Just expect some odd handling at slow speed. It also does high speed Tokyo Drift style turns :)
How has the boat been? Is it reliable?

Mark Gosser your absolutely right. You could do it but the kids would need crash helmets and seat belts. Definitely a flat water boat.

@@thebritishboatguy3130 would you like to sell it to me?
@@jordanhart9441 unfortunately we sold it last year.
Congrats on the new toy! Any idea what make the aftermarket tower is? The 165 models are tough to find a non factory tower for. Thanks!

You ever find out who makes that tower?
How exactly did you do the lighting upgrade?

Unfortunately not, we sold the boat a couple of years ago.
How much HP, as they're are a few options for this model?

No BGM required
8:07 shoes on top the seat that’s a big no.
Depends if the persons shoes belong to the person who owns the boat. Or if they are boat shoes
@@thebritishboatguy3130 the best just keep them off. Will keep the boat clan and better condition cheers mate.
You don't know why jet skis go around in circles by themselves? Kind of undermines your review really !!!!
I know exactly why jet skis go round and round. It’s a review for people that want a boat not a scooter.
