    I have resurrected a project for this type of quilt, following a video tutorial which didn’t work and, no, I didn’t make any mistakes. So frustrated. Very happy to say that it’s working perfectly following your method and I’m confident to make more…the best tutorial that I have seen and followed. Thank you so much…♥️👏🏻😊

      Ah thank you Karen I am so glad it worked for you. It's horrid when you follow along with something only for it to work out badly.

    Greta tutorial! Thank you for sharing. I just made two blankets for my grand baby that’s due soon! Followed this step by step on the first one...super easy! The only thing I changed was on the mitered corner. I stopped sewing 1/2” from the end on the part you turn under, then turned under 1/2”. Worked beautifully! Thank you, thank you! You made it fun instead of frustrating 😁

    I'm a huge fan of your talking tripod, lol. The scandalous gasp to your sewing over the pins was hilarious, lol. GREAT tutorial!

    Wish I had seen this tutorial before I made mine for my nieces. Your first steps of using spray to adhere the materials together and quilting would have been handy steps to avoid the struggles I had had with the moving and stretching minke. Know what to do next time, don’t I? Cheers from sunny Queensland.🇦🇺

    Great timing, I have had something in mind for a few days for a piece of fabric and this would make a far better (and quicker!) edging than I had planned.
    Talking Tripod is a love! I think she should have her own show!
    Also, minky...SO many comments could be made but I will be good!! 😉🤣

    The problem that I am facing is...when I am tucking to finish - I cannot tuck the same amount in the corners.
    First time seeing a blanket - up to this point it’s being easy with ur detailed instructions.
    Wish I could attach a photo - I’m pretty proud of it!

      This is 4 years to late to help you, but maybe help someone else.. If you want to turn under 1/4 inch, you need to stop sewing the mitered corner 1/4 inch from the end. In this video, it will work if you don't need to turn under a raw edge, like if you are using a fleece fabric, and then zig zag all around the edge. Hope this helps.

    Hi love your tutorial. This will be my very first attempt at a blanket. Where can I find the marker you used to make the lines?

    • @BeautifulThingscraftandsewing
      @BeautifulThingscraftandsewing  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Frixion pens are available in the stationary department of any supermarket. They are not designed for fabric but work due to the heat/friction

  • @cathymartin3379
    @cathymartin3379 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    It's actually a lot easier if you draw the line for the corners first sew it then trim the excess off. You just need to move the line to be right against the corner rather than 1/4 inch away.

    Great tutorial! What size does "binding" end up being though? My brain can't comprehend the math please help! I need my finished project to be 24 x 38 inches.

  • @sylviah1234

    Just add 10 inches to top and sides. example 30X40 fabric add to 40X50 backing,

  • @k1533

    Do I have this right? Various size 3 inches on all sides smaller than one piece of fabric. I am a novice can you tell.

    Does it have to be 3”? Can it be 2” all the way around?

    can anyone tell me how to make the binding wider on the sides than the top?

    • @BeautifulThingscraftandsewing
      @BeautifulThingscraftandsewing  ปีที่แล้ว

      I'm not quite sure what you mean? If you want it to measure a different width on the narrow ends to the long edges then this method wont work as you can't mitre the corners

    Nope. Looks like a placemat.

      This is just a tutorial so I have not used baby fabric. It would obviously look super cute in appropriate fabrics
