I love how Howard turns out to be a full grown up adult. If you think about him at first seasons and the last ones is a major character development. Sadly we never find out what was writen in the letter.
@@urielroz That’s just it: we *were* told, we just don’t know which one. You said, “we never find out what was written in the letter.” But we *did*. That was the whole point of the scene: to reveal what was actually in the letter, but leave it ambiguous as to which revelation was the truth.
@@sabin97 Incorrect. Leonard said one of their reveals was what was actually what was in the letter. So we *did* find out, we’re just not sure. Again, the entire point of the exercise in the scene.
I just love the fact that there is a poster on the wall, just to the right of Mrs. Davis's office that reads: "Sexual Harassment Hurts Everyone". I get a feeling that this is a warning to Sheldon and all of his friends, just before getting to her office door. Funny!
0:15 Raj dated 2 women named Emily during the course of the show... and neither of them is the shy girl that he dated in season 6. Her name was Lucy. 1:04 Except for Penny. She's a kid with kids' money (at this point in the show, anyway). It makes you look down un her for calling guys' "Pathetic" for being kids' with adults' money (she's done this in multiple episodes in different ways. The most memorable example is the time machine episode). 2:09 Just to give himself another chance to put Howard down as revenge for the way he Howard treated him in the Stephen Hawking episode and for all the BS that Sheldon pointed out in "The Friendship Turbulence." 2:20 Thank you, Olesya. 2:56 Yeah, from this point on, a recurring gag is that Bernadette doesn't like Howard's magic and she finds ways to make him feel bad about it or to sabotage it or something like that. Previously, she was willing to be his assistant and defend him at all costs against some innocent kids. Later on, she becomes far meaner to him about his magic than the kids ever were. The short version of it as that Bernadette is a character that changes for the worse as the show progresses. At least in my opinion, anyway. 3:21 The funniest part is that Bernadette seemingly wanted to punish Sheldon for bringing a takeout meal to her dinner party by making him do this for the entire party. I mean yeah, the closet is organized. But as far as punishing Sheldon or teaching him a lesson.... that part of her plan backfired. On the other hand, you're right. Inviting Sheldon more often would mean less housework for her. He's more helpful around her house than her own husband. 4:24 Yeah, he should have just thrown it out instead of setting it on fire. 4:29 I'd get a ladder. 5:07 True 6:17 Not to mention it was his idea to have Howard-Bernadette's wedding on the roof so it got photographed from space. 7:20 Yeah, that's how I feel when I'm forced to wear nice clothes that are itchy. 8:01 Yeah, that's one thing I don't like about her. 11:58 Well, that depends on whether or not having your closet organized and cleaned is worth having those secrets revealed.
13:53 man, jokes aside, this reminds me: remember how his previous roommate ran out and told Leonard to run? He also wrote a BAD message on a wall. As sad as it might be, I’d actually like to watch a short story of what happened between him and Sheldon.
Hi, Olesya! Great reactions to some wonderful episodes. During Season 1 I never would have thought some of the most emotional & touching scenes of the show would include Howard. Sheldon finding the “battery operated chew toy” was one of the most surprising & funny things! Amy sure knows how to “play” Sheldon. Doesn’t always win, but knows his vulnerabilities. And the super awkward lady Raj met at the comic book shop during the Valentines Day party was Lucy. Emily is the name of two other women he dates in the show. Thanks for sharing your videos with us. ❤
Wow these were very funny episodes. 😂😂😂 Thank you I really needed that cause I've been a little under the weather but I'm feeling better now cause I saw this so thanks for the laugh. Also whenever I see you smile, it's like seeing a flower bloom my day gets better. 😊❤️ I love you so much Olesya. (Oh-less-ee-ah) I hope I got it right that's how you pronounce it right?
These are 2 of the most interesting episodes in the entire series because they both raise questions that will never get answered. We will never find out what was in the letter or who got the tenure. As far as the letter: -Sheldon is obviously lying -Raj is almost certainly lying. A birthday card for the 18th birthday is a very easy lie to come up with, considering Howard said he got the letter when he was 18. Plus, Raj mentioned the illustrations on the card, which Sheldon wouldn't have told him about because no one asked about the illustrations. They just asked what it said. -I don't think it's Leonard's version. Because if Howard's dad felt that way, why didn't he just come home? -Bernadette's version is sweet and beautiful and makes sense. However, I don't think it's her. Having her being the one telling the truth would make this game too easy. To make this game effective, the person telling the truth should be somebody who isn't so close to him. That leaves either Amy or Penny. These are the 2 characters that were least close to Howard at this point in time. This was before the Neil Diamond episode, so Howard and Amy had never bonded. Penny doesn't even like Howard. -Amy seemed like she was telling the truth and hers was the only one that generated a response from Howard. You have to be careful, though. That might just be her master manipulator skills at work. Regardless, I hope it's her version. For the longest time, she was my #1 guess. -However, a later episode changed my mind. I'm talking about the one where Howard's half brother appears. It's very possible that the only point of that storyline was as a hint that Penny's version is the true version. This is evidence that the dad had another life which is what Penny said. I hope Penny's version isn't the true version, because, while the others show that the father is trying to redeem himself as much as he can, Penny's version would prove that Howard's dad is just a jerk. Regardless, Penny's version is the only version where there is evidence to back it up. Plus, if he wanted to make amends, he could come home instead of sending that letter. If Howard's father is just a jerk, the only version of the letter that confirms that is Penny's version. So, as much as Penny's version raises more questions than it answers and it would not make Howard feel better, I would guess that her version is the true version. As for the tenure, I think Kripke as the one who got it. 3 reasons: 1. A then-recent episode taught us that Kripke was the most advanced scientist at the university at the time, even more advanced than Sheldon. 2. He was the best at buttering up the committee. The main guys' attempts to do this backfired. He's the only one that succeeded at this. 3. The tenure is never mentioned again. It would be difficult to avoid talking about it if one of the main characters got it. The one that got it would brag about it and the other ones would be jealous. If a minor character got it, it's easier to avoid mentioning.
I think I got mixed up with his previous girl friend😂 as I watched this episode at the time when I was editing season 5 and I guess it stuck in my head😊
I don´t want to break your spirit but 5 of them "tried" to convince Howard by liing...and then there´s Sheldon🙃 But imagine Bernadette was the one telling a lie...
@@XXX_Carnage_XXX nah, Sheldon and Raj would be less likely to be right. Sheldon ahs a 0% chance of being right. What version of the letter do you think is true ? xDD ..i dont remember if there is explanation on the internet from writers , so i dont know it either ..
@@XXX_Carnage_XXXIt was most likely Amy's. You see Sheldon trying to divert the attention off of her version, likely to keep him in the dark. Now, we know Sheldon's was made up, we know it can't be Leonard's or Raj's, because they both had something more than just the letter, but only the letter was burned. No card and no picture was left. Penny's was the cliche "My dad is a secret spy" type of lie that kids tell themselves when their dad leaves, possibly they're told that on purpose, but it makes it less likely to be true. If he were to tell him that family was important and he shouldn't throw it away, then he'd obviously try to establish a relationship with Howard again. With Amy's, the way she says it, then Shelon tries to say "Maybe not that one, it could be any other" as if he thought she was too convincing, so he wanted to cover for her. As you can tell, I've thought far too much about this 😅 Soy take is that it's Amy's that's right.
I thought Bill Prady said that Bernadette spoke the truth, as if it ever came up later, she would be the one Howard would want to trust, and after Leonard spoke the camera pan down to her was meant to stand out. What I think is odd is the idea itself. As opposed to never knowing the turh, Howard would know it with a 1 in 5 shot, since his dad didn't star in The Goonies. Narrowing down the possibilities in any form where the right answer is included stops it being any possibility.
@@pmichaelreed103 That's interesting, because having her being the one telling the truth would make this game easy. That'd just be too obvious. You could guess that before you even heard any of them
