Totally! A lot of people go for live recordings of their favourite bands, suffering the delusion it will make them feel like the band is performing live in their living room. I prefer most studio recordings over live recordings. PRIMUS live recordings however, with only a few exceptions are most of the time BETTER than the studio recordings. And that’s saying something!
Their jams are so tight. They don’t just go into some amateur medley, they jam the song and then reign it back in and give it one last horse whip right at the end; all the while remaining faithful to the song’s core. And watching/hearing Les go nuts on his bass is one of the great thrills in life.

They're a great live band, always have been. But personally, I like this song better with Herb on drums, and Les's newer bass sounds a bit thinner than his old one that he sold.

I put Jay up there with my all-time favs, Danny Carey, Neil Pert, Joey Jordison, Kelli Scott, and I know it's not super complex but Sean Kinney of Alice in Chains (I love all of Alice.) Worthy mentions: Dave Lombardo, Mike Bordin, Igor Cavalera, Danny Heifetz,Vinnie Paul, Chris Adler, Bonham, Mickey Hart, Jimmy Chamberlin, Tommy Sickles n Matthew Mcdonough to name a cpl..

I don't know whole lot about Primus but it seemed like every time I see a live show on utube there is a different drummer and a lead guitarist. Am I right or am I wrong and why?
