Great video ! Thanks for reminding me of the old days.I started out in 1970 driving a 1964 H1000 Cabover Ford with a sleeper,an old Maislin Bros, for you old guys up in N.Y. who ran the Northway rt 87. Then a 1964 White 9000 series,an old Acme Markets,Phila.,Pa. truck. They both had 220 Cummins 10spds,and no power steering !.They had a flame (at night), and tons of smoke coming out of the stack. You old guys already know this stuff.lol..73,280 gross wt. and 38 & 40 ft trailers, nylon tires, bump, bump, bump til they warmed up. wow! back then that was it ,remember ? Why that was only 46yrs. ago!
Love the old trucks.🥰 My Dad was an agent for North American Van Lines back in the day... I love looking at his old pics of those trucks.😍 I have his 51 REO. Thanks for sharing.
I had an 1954 LK Mack. If you had dead batteries, you could still start it. Took two guys. In side was a compression release. Outside there was a hole through the grill the radiator and it had a crank to the harmonic balancer. The outside guy would gets the engine spinning and then the inside guy would let off the compression release.
Wow! What a great video, I drove for builder's transport for 4 good yrs an alota trucks in your video I saw over the rd, there all gone now! But thanks for the trip down memory lane.
Hello from Rhode Island, Gene. Thanks for the memories old friend. I enjoy showing this to my bride and some of the trucks she remembers from the movies. Some of them I remember from childhood and growing up around trucks. I retired in 2009 after nearly forty years in the saddle and 2.5 M miles.... Stay well my friend and again thanks for sharing some great memories. . .
I know a man named Steve Hendershot, in La Port City Iowa, that has a K-100 and trailer, that looks just like the truck in BJ and the bear show. Also has scale model that he drives around at the Iowa 80 truck show. Man's even got a plastic model of the truck still in the plastic. He is Hell of good man, I did some polishing work for him about 10 year's ago, really nice man to do business with
@@genem12311 I don't think Steve drives that truck over the road. I'm pretty sure he only drives it to Walcott to the show. He owns Buck and Haley transport. That was his son and granddaughter. I can't remember exactly what happened to them, but I think they perished in a Auto accident. I wouldn't wish that on my worst enemies.
roadway truck at 1:54 sat outside of roadways headquarters in Akron Ohio for years. could be seen from route 8 on east side of the road until roadway was no more. kick myself in the ass for not ever stopping to get pics cuz now its gone. and to where is anyones guess
@@d281833 , that old thermodyne would roar. A mack was the only thing that my grandfather would drive, used to tell me about that bulldog talking to him. I thought he was crazy, now I understand. I miss that old man 🚚🚛
My dad had a b model with quadaplex. He would have to let go of the steering wheel reach his left arm thru the steering wheel to shift the next year. The rpm range was narrow so there was a lot of shifting going on. He would only use the clutch starting from a stop. Clutch had some heavy springs and would wear you out using it. No power steering either. Those were the days it took a real man to drive those beasts.

Back when trucks were trucks, not this plastic crap on the roads today.
That beautiful Titan Mack it is not old at all! I feel sorry for that Pete rusted with its tank.
That's the truck from the movie DUEL! It was made to look like that. In fact that may be a replica,
Carlos Ballesteros !
That old rusty tanker truck at the end id love to fix up I wish I had the profit to find one of em and fix it up ! One day .... One day... !!!

*Yes! I couldn't think of the name of the movie, but " Duel" is it. Very weird and suspensfull movie.
When I first saw "Duel" I kept wondering what was under the hood of that old truck to make it so damned FAST.
That's the Duel Truck

Any body remember the B model Mack's with a tri-plex. That's what I learned to drive. 😎😎
Yeah, my dad had a B-61 with the Mack Thermodyne engine and a B-73. Later had an F model cabover with a tri-plex.
