Wow, I was 8 when this game was televised. Couple take always. Crazy to see Shannon Sharpe as a back up, ended up being the greatest TE of the 90’s and early 00’s. Now in the HOF. I always knew Elway had a strong arm but really watching it in this game, easily the strongest arm in the 90’s, 00’s 10’s and now the 20’s. The crowd noise compared to today, just insane, those were REAL broncos fans, not all of these transplants who just go to the game for the social aspect we have today. I miss that Colorado….
REMEMBER Sharpe is a backup. Now look at the weapons Elway had to work with for most of his career. No all pro players. Very average. Yet he went to 3 super bowls with them. He had the ability to make those around him better than they were. THAT is the definition of greatness.
Those uniforms are what made me a Broncos fan! I live in New Hampshire and was born in Massachusetts. This is Patriots Country but as a little boy in the early 80’s I got my first look at those uniforms and fell in love! 40 years later and I still bleed orange & blue! My son’s middle name is actually Seven because of #7. I love all my Boston teams except the Pats! 🧡💙

You are correct on so many levels football and the fans was real and awesome back then. That 80-yard touchdown to Arthur Marshall was sweet

37:54 Most QBs put air under their deep throws. John Elway stuck them on his receivers.

Anyone else remember when the “future of the Jets” was Browning Nagle?
Bruce Coslet's goofy strategy of benching Browning Nagle for 2-minute drills and going with Ken O'Brien. That backfired about as badly as possible.
Great video. More Broncos games please
Great commentators in Charlie Jones and Todd christensen rest in peace
