  • I am so excited to plant up the pots that float on our front gate using Railscapes! I first used them last year, they were released in early 2023, and I love being able to put plants in places you couldn't previously put plants.
    This video is in no way sponsored, I just love the product that much.
    You can find railscapes here: bit.ly/planttraps
    ** Definitely read the instructions on the site to make sure they will work for your railing and that you get the correct size based on your spindles.

    Have you thought about having the containers on the other side of the fence?

      I have but I’m not sure if I’m technically allowed to block part of the sidewalk. When we have our garden walk, I do actually move them out front so it’s more visible to people walking by!

    I love your support for this lady and her business. I’m waiting to buy until I can splurge on a few. In the meantime I’ve joined her crusade on helping remove copyright infringements lol

      Omg I never realized how many people try to steal ideas! Reporting all of them seems like a full time job itself.

    Perfect timing. We just moved into an apartment. It has a decent patio but I'm so excited because now I can add more plants on my railings. Thank you, they look beautiful!

      That’s exactly how I felt when I first saw the railscapes, more space for plants!!

    The front gate garden tour is needed. What is planted up in that bed. I love that product, great option for those who have balconies!!

    Hello! I found you recently because a) my brother lives in Lakeview and I wanted to get some ideas of what plants do well in that area (I live in Calif 9a) and b) I might possibly be moving close to there and was getting ideas (lol). Anyway, I’m doing a visit there the weekend of the 20th of July and was wondering if you might be attending the Aquascapes event where Garden Answer & Epic Gardening are doing meet and greets? I thought it might be fun if I ran into you. 😂😂
    Love the plantings and the support for the small business. 🥰🥰

    Hello~ I'm a first time gardener also in the Chicago 6a zone. I've been inspired by your container garden to start one of my own on my apartment balcony. I so appreciate all your tips for gardening creatively in limited spaces..!! Excited to see how your vines shape up.
    I'm sure you've noticed the heat lately. Would you consider giving some advice on how to protect your plants during this sudden, extreme heat? I'm paranoid that everything is gonna crisp up before I can harvest any of my edibles. T_T

      @ChicagoGardener  3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Omg, I’m currently battle against the heat too. Most of my plants can handle it from what I’ve learned from past years. My hydrangeas though don’t really like it so I currently have a chair and an umbrella set up in front of them for shade 😆. I make sure to water everything early in the morning so the plant absorbs the water before the heat of the day and I check on my small pots in the afternoon too (perk of working from home). I know other people use shade cloth to cover plants too.

      Yes.. I think I'm extra paranoid because it's my first rodeo, but you were right! They're doing just fine. I can so relate to all of your *staring at the plants* videos lol. Thank you!! 😊

    I'm curious why did you not put them on the other side of the fence? I guess that would be the front by sidewalk?

    • @ChicagoGardener
      @ChicagoGardener  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Right, I’m not sure if you’re allowed to block any part of the sidewalk and I wouldn’t want to make mobility difficult for anyone.
