Literally amazing. Thanks mate. Had no idea how to do all 3. Literally took drone out walked 20 mins before going to take off. Went to take off and it said updates required! Your video worked perfectly!
You are genius mate! Last month I bought a battery that didnt work (battery communication error), didnt want to charge and middle 2 leds were blinking. I was refounded but seller told me to dispose the battery. After seeing your video I realised that I updated my mini 3pro on stock battery. Just put it back on the drone and updated. Its working now! 😂 My first free battery ever😊
Thanks. Just checking I was doing it right. Flysafe OK . But repeated 'Server error: Code...' for aircraft firmware 'wait a moment and try again'. 5 minutes and still error message. Switch off and try again. All this gets the drone hot to auto switch-off stage eventually (I've got 5 batteries to update). I can't update with the props on since it tells me to do that when landed! WiFi appears not to be on while props are on/flying or not. I use a laptop cooling pad to sit the drone on to delay the overheat issue.
No problem, glad you found it useful 👍 That error is usually just due to the DJI servers not being accessible of you not being logged in to your DJI account. The heat issue is very common, my drone gets very warm, I tend to sit it on a nice cool surface. That is really bizarre that you can't do updates with the props on. Mine is fine, so long as it is all unfolded and set down on a level surface. Are they 3rd party props?
Thank you for posting this. First time updating the firmware for me since I got the drone about a month ago, so I was a bit worried about how to go about it with the batteries. Nice, clear instructions in your video.
Did you get it to update using a regular wifi network? I just got a mini 3 pro and every time I try to update the firmware, it says an error code, and I’m stuck on the basic firmware.
Thanks, this helped me with a problem after updating the Firmware to v01.00.0400. After that one flight battery showed "Communication problem" and two leds in the center were green and ON all the time. After updating the firmware of another battery I also inserted the faulty one and thanks an update information showed up and solved the problem.
I bought a mini 3, and it comes with a standard battery. When I press the power button on the aircraft it doesn't show any lights. Apparently the new battery needs to be activated when using for the first time. How can I do that?
So long as the battery is charged it should power on. You need the drone powered on to update the battery. Depending on what firmware you are on, you may need to press the power button and then quickly press and hold it again to get it to switch on. One short press will generally show you the power level of the battery. Sometimes they can be a bit finicky to switch on. Make sure it is set flat on the ground away from any other objects as the props will spin slightly. If you plug the drone into a power source over USB with the battery inserted, that should give you the correct battery level. Hope that helps.
