- Welcome back. For those that don't live in Glastonbury the town has received over £23 million pounds of government cash spread among 10 projects, one of which is the remodeling of the Abbey entrance and themoving of the gate line to the other side of the gate line,
I report on the progress of these projects for the town and so I also publish the updates here as well
Enjoy
Very informative and extremely interesting.... Many thanks.... Yet another, great place in....... Glastonbury *
Glad you enjoyed it
Excellent video Gabe - very well described and put together.
Exciting times for the Abbey and Glastonbury!
Well done!
Cheers,
Paul
PS I haven't visited Glastonbury Abbey since I was about 7 years old, although I did do part of the Somerset & Dorset Railway from the town - I must put that right soon!
Hey Paul Thanks for your comment. Here is a plan why don’t we do a video of the abbey together. I do like TH-camr meet-ups 😀😀
That looks really exciting. I must come an visit again once it's all finished.
It will be well worth it
Interesting video Gabriel thank you It will be interesting to see what comes up following the archeological work on the site 👍🏿👍🏽👍
I can't wait
Thank you for the update! Time goes so fast that I can’t imagine that it will be all done & dusted by October!
Just to clarify its October 2025
Brilliant.
Thank you
Interesting thanks Gabriel
My pleasure!
Well done Gabe for a very professional and informative vid this looks like a very interesting project and I am excited too
Thanks Tom
so cool looks beautiful, they could sell any left over abbey bricks and turn them into amulets for the pilgrims like in mediaeval times, when people i think took powder from the stones to put in there pilgrim bottles
Ooh now that is an idea 💡
@@GlastonburyGabriel it used to be used for healing aliments similar to homeopathy does a similar thing like flower essences as well. be magical if they can find someone to do that.
Great update, Gabe.
Thanks!
Hope to see it myself within 5 weeks Gab.
Excellent
जोरदार जी
Thank you
😂thank you 😊
Thank you
Saddens me that they haven't tried to rebuild the Abby, cause that would bring in the money from tourist wanting to see what it looked like back in it hay day.
That's an interesting idea. Buckfast abbey is a new build as is Liverpool
@@GlastonburyGabriel Just looed at the Buckfast Abby, is that neogothic or just Gothic?. Since the Glastonbury Abby was Norman architecture and Gothic, so not many buildings will look like Glastonbury making it something people would want to see.
