As a returning player, this guide is perfect for me. When I played, I too used many add-ons and upon returning I either have forgotten the add-ons I used previously or have found the ones I did use are no longer around. The only part I am dreading is the hours its going to take me to get it configured just the way I want it. You have earned yourself a subscriber. 😃
Fantastic video. Really insightful and tackles a lot of practical issues. The delivery both on screen and in voice are brilliant, give plenty of information without dragging. Thanks for putting it together, looking forward to more content on BFA
You actually went over your KUI nameplate settings in the video, THANK YOU! This information was incredibly helpful. I have been customizing my UI and figuring out addons for days now, and through my hours of research this was one of the most helpful videos, as you give alternatives to each addon and dont just tell us to use elvUI, like so many other similar videos. Liked and subscribed.
I've copied all of your KUI settings, but the addon doesn't seem to be working. Everything is still the blizzard defualt, KUI is not appearing at all. Any idea why that is?
This was AWESOME! I cant thank you enough. You hit the nail on the head when you said most people are lazy. I am, i cant get down to fix my ui and find it wasting of gametime to customize everything. Very relateable and helpfull video with good examples, sources, links complete with input codes and explanation of every addon
Wodane just do what I did, I’ve only been playing for two months and the addons can be intimidating, I am also lazy and hate spending time configuring my ui instead of playing, start with one, figure it out, set it up, and play, after a bit you get a feel for what you want and make your changes and then you realize the things your missing that the addon doesn’t provide so you add another. It takes time but your not overwhelmed with everything. I started with bartender and shadow unit frames then branched out from there
This is precisely what I was looking for. After watching several other ui videos wherein they didn't even mention which addons they were using I am delighted to see a good breakdown here. +1 Subsciber
i have been playin this game for a loooooooooong time now . and learned all these over time . but to see some1 care enough for new players to put up such a nice guide . weldone my friend . keep up the good work
Now this is a wonderful video. As the other comments tell you, its well produced and you talk at a nice pace and dont overwhelm the viewer with silly jargon. Made it so much better to watch and one of the best add on videos ive seen ever. New subscriber here for sure. Keep up the good work Nogs \../,
Man Ive been lookin for videos like this for a while because I want to improve at the game and by far this is one if not the best vid arround, just thanks a lot!
Best video ever. Been looking for all of them and the macros, hours of settings changing and now my game experience is so much better. I am literally stronger now. Thanks!!
Returning WoW player here. Good info in this video and wow has this game (and its players!) evolved. Used to hate the road it had taken since wotlk but BFA had me hyped and I'm actually really enjoying the last few months of Legion. Thanks for the tips!
I have watched a bunch of addon videos over my life, and yours was one of the best. Concise, informative, and really helped me solidify what I wanted to do with mine. Thanks for making it and great job!
6:42 Lol, I agree. I’m one of those people that when I start playing a game like WoW I generally spend more time researching than playing until I get the hang of things. I quit playing WoW during Cata and just came back a week or so ago, I’ve probably watched about 20 hours of vids on what’s new, looking for good Addams, etc., did the same thing back in Vanilla when I first started playing, I hate being a detriment to my group by not knowing my class, encounter, mechanic, etc.
I’ve played WoW for years and don’t struggle with high end content. However this video is brilliant!! So much useful data you’ve even managed to change an old school player’s UI! Good job man.
Daaang. Great video dude, although for me you just reminded me what I really like about this game and why I play. I've always felt obligated to download addons because they're seen as essential or are a great help to the player, but personally they always detract from my experience. When I play, I don't like to be mastermindedly thinking of all the cooldowns and how to maximize everything; I like to imagine that I'm my character, fighting boldly through a war-torn world, doing the best he can in the moment. And it takes an amazing video like this to remind me of that, that why I play the game might be different from why someone else does, and that it's fine for me not to have bunches of addons or a custom UI. Thanks man :)
A great tip I got from somewhere was to start with a blank canvas. Hide the UI entirely (Alt-Z for N.A. default keybind) and run around playing for a while. Make a note of the elements you end up needing and then add just those back in. A great plus with Weak Auras is that, instead of a simple icon in your face, you can use your imagination. For example, I like audio queues.
6:37 “the first time you log in Blizzard actually sets you up for failure by giving you an ABOMINATION OF AN INTERFACE” You helped me figure it out. The interface is the first boss fight in WoW... and you get to start fighting at level 1. Lol
I've never watched you before this video popped up in my recommended, but this is hands down the best video I've seen when it comes to explaining things in WOW you made it so easy to follow and explained very thoroughly. Thank you sir your time and effort doesn't go unnoticed
Very useful video mate. You'd have to be the best in the business at the moment in regards to info for BFA. Keep up the good work my man. Interesting to see how everything checks out once BFA drops!
Awesome addon video! Good amount of info about what every addon do and how to get them and how to config them! Hands down the best addon vid ive seen! My warlock is a happy dotter now :D
Not required but LUI ties a lot of the addons you use together in a nice aesthetically pleasing format that changes color based on class which is also a nice touch.
Another great video my man!! Seriously keep up the good work. Your format and information is unmatched! Love watching your vids every time you release one! Even as a 10 year veteran of the game, I put your vids up with some of the best! Always interesting. Keep it up my man.
I'm a lazy wow player tho I won't be using any of your tips because i'm a casual player this video is great for anyone who wants to really get into wow and maximize their classes potential. Good Work!
Great video! If I may make a suggestion to take it up another level, using the same bar texture and font for every on-screen element really adds some polish and makes it feel like a cohesive UI. I'd also suggest Masque for a roll-your-own UI for more consistency in the icons.
I’ve been playing since early BC and I have most of the addons. Except weakauras and kui nameplates. Those two always kinda freaked me out and I never attempted them. This guide is the perfect guide to bring an Addon newbie up to speed. During prepatch I’m running low mythics and leveling up a new tank with those two addons and it’s changed my wow life. It’ll take time to get used too, but it’s already helping. Thanks for the video!
Very nicely done! Lots of hard work put into the video and very well explained. I use quite a bit of the addons you listed, but you gave me insight to a few I had not. Getting a Like and a Subscribe from me.
IMO you probably should have begun with ElvUI instead of going the "and all that garbage is useless just download ElvUI instead lmao" but apart from that the video is excellent, thank you so much for the work you put into this, it's appreciated :)
Awesome informative video and listed details/links for ease of copying. Many people post a list of addons like this, but you actually mention alternatives to quite a few of them which is good to see. I've played wow for years and never really got into mouse over macros (granted I don't play dot heavy classes), but I'm probably going to give them a look after watching this and see if I can fit them in. I also hadn't heard about a few of the more high end/mythic mods which are definitely worthy of a look as well. Worth a sub for sure.
Great video...though I had to start the video twice at the beginning as I thought you were talking about me!...LOL...Outstanding information and explanations on the addons...So which do you prefer using the addons or ELvUI?
this is a very well made, high-quality video and this should get so much more tracktion than it already has! But maybe we can do something about that :)
Awesome video! Had a look through JBs wa but could find the interrupt tracker you had in the vid. Which was more a nicely rendered progress bar. Are you able to share the thread? Thx
Nice video, think it might help out a lot of people :). Btw, maybe try out Vocal Raid Assistant, it's an add-on that help you focus your eyes on the raid while having an easier time knowing when cooldowns are used :).
Hey, love the video, really good stuff! I have a question about KUI nameplates though, I cant seem to figure out how to get it to show any dots/debuffs you place on the target. For example I play enhance shammy, and it wont show my flametongue DOT on the nameplates. I tried to follow your setup exactly but it didn't seem to change. am I missing something in the video?
After years of playing dps with default UI, i decided to roll tank for dungeons and ran into this video, and finally got the name of KUI nameplate i was searching for days. 1 like 1 subscribe
Great video, first time I am able to understand how addons works and how to use them. Hard noob here .. I got into wow to play with good friends (they played for years) and I wish i could be not so much of a burden :/ I didn't quite get the mouseover thing, how does it work ? Like everytime your mouse gets over a mob the spell casts ? Isn't it annoying ? Or with a friendly player maybe you didn't want to cast your precious heal smh :p I remind you i don't play much so maybe i didn't get that casting heals everytimepossible is how one should paly wow in the first palce ..
Hey Rafael! pretty much the spell will cast whatever hostile or friendly unit your mouse is over when the spell is used :) it won't auto cast anything for you, it just directs the cast you pressed to where your mouse is :)
Thanks Mr.Potato! in the shadow unit frames menu the first tab top left you need to un-check "lock frames" this will allow you to drag any frame units wherever you wish :)
Just a small thing (just in case) you don't have to type the spell name after #showtooltip you can just keep going normally and it will still show it here's an example on the macro you have in 12:54 #showtooltip /cast [@player] Angelic Feather
Also in the event you create a macro with multiple spells such as one with modifiers, leaving it as just #showtooltip will change the icon based on the spell in the modifier. Great for my mount macro that spawns a different mount based on conditions or modifiers. Also if you combine help/healing with harm/damage spells into a single button so as a healer you dont have twice as many buttons if you want to also have your damage spells out.
As a returning player, this guide is perfect for me. Nevermind, I am an idiot and had nameplates toggled off (default command for that is "v" for anybody else having the same issue)
Hands down THE BEST video I've seen on UI modifications and tips yet.
Bro, you story in the beginning is soooo relateable!!! I think we all have experienced this

6 videos and already one of the best wow channels on youtube in my opinion, keep it up mate!

I've been watching add-on videos for the past hour and see you just uploaded this.... perfect timing thanks
MAN!!!! THIS VIDEO IS PURE GOLD!!!! i was looking for something like this as an healer....that macro to change the nameplates of mobs...ohhh lord tks!

You are my hero. Thanks for making this video. Already downloaded the WA for the Mythic+ inturrupt tracker. Please make more videos. Fuck the haters.

as a warrior main tank ur first clip gave me chills
:D
Fantastic video, great job. Superb help for the community. Thanks for making this video!
Great video man! Those macros in the end are really gonna help me with my healing in BFA!
Great video man, you totally saved my life in WoW as I'm now beginning the game. Cheers.
Thank you for taking the time to help other players new and old
6:37 “the first time you log in Blizzard actually sets you up for failure by giving you an ABOMINATION OF AN INTERFACE”
You helped me figure it out. The interface is the first boss fight in WoW... and you get to start fighting at level 1. Lol
This is the best add-on video I've ever seen, thanks bro!

I haven’t used addons since they day the game launched but am giving them a shot for BFA. Thanks for the video.
MNYankee jesus, how the hell do you survive
Abesss I’m a bland kinda guy.
Awesome addon video! Good amount of info about what every addon do and how to get them and how to config them! Hands down the best addon vid ive seen! My warlock is a happy dotter now :D
Great Video!
Straight to the point and great detail about each add on thank you!
Not required but LUI ties a lot of the addons you use together in a nice aesthetically pleasing format that changes color based on class which is also a nice touch.
Great compilation! I knew those add-ons, but this macros changed my playstyle, thanks!

Good Work!
Been away for so long and coming back without add ons/new macros it's been a research project for sure

Best addon video so far. Thanks so much
As a on and off wow player this is a very informative video great work.
By far the best addon video I’ve seen. Maybe I’ll actually try mythic plus this expansion once I get all these figured out!
I’ve been playing since early BC and I have most of the addons. Except weakauras and kui nameplates. Those two always kinda freaked me out and I never attempted them. That's awesome coop! :) is there any important addons you feel would help a new or returning player that I may have missed?
Deadly boss mods, sexy map, auctioneer?
Very good vod i have played a long time and i like thes kinde of vods. u Always learn somthing new. Well done keep it coming bro.!
Great video Nogs..definitely earned a new subscriber on this one. Looking forward to more of your content bro
Я не знаю английский, но твое видео очень помогло мне найти аддон, который я давно искала. Thanks for video! Good luck :з
Very insightful. Thank you!
I thought about it Rox! but there was many raiders in my guild that didn't like elvui because when it breaks you feel naked :)
I'm a pretty scrub player and i wanna get better... I'm rewatching your vid a few times to see what i'm missing.
Good video
Excellent guide. Just what I needed!
Very good explain of the addons. Simple and plain no fancy stuff.

Superb video personally I’m back after a long break and this was perfect to get back into the healing game

Amazing Video!!
Nice video my dude.
Great video man! Thanks
Am i blind? I don't see the export of your shadowed unit frames profile. I love the way you have setup your boss frames.
Very informative and helpful video. Take my sub :D
Maybe consider checking out an addon Leatrix plus, it is like addon suite by handling a lot of features in a single add on.
Awesome video 🙏🏽 you helped me alot!
Good video matie!
Great addon video, very useful.
Awesome video!
Had a look through JBs wa but could find the interrupt tracker you had in the vid. Which was more a nicely rendered progress bar. Are you able to share the thread?
Thx
Thanks Aidan! sorry i'll put it in the description now just in case people need it :) wago.io/SkjHi61Bz
NOGS awesome thanks mate. Great WA
For Elvui, you can download a client on their site to easily install & keep it updated, with the other addons they propose, like Addonskins.
thank you for very informative video. by the way, did you ever rap before? i think you should
@8:06 How did you get the timers to show there? Was it with Move Anything? thanks
RUN AWAY LITTLE GIRL is the soul of my raiding.
Great video! Just wondering what the blue spiky headdress thing is on your char @7:34 ? Thanks!
I think that's mythic antorus head
Nice video, think it might help out a lot of people :). Btw, maybe try out Vocal Raid Assistant, it's an add-on that help you focus your eyes on the raid while having an easier time knowing when cooldowns are used :).

Elvui is in the tukui client though. Witch makes it much easier to update/install it.
nice vid, now i see i have to completely revamp my UI....
After years of playing dps with default UI, i decided to roll tank for dungeons and ran into this video, and finally got the name of KUI nameplate i was searching for days. 1 like 1 subscribe
Excellent video. Thanks!
would love to see a healing addon/set up video from you
Nice video man, how do you set up the hidden bags feature in bartender?
Thanks Austin, the option is called "fade out" then change the opacity to 100% making it invisible :)
great video. Sadly, i just can't get my head around weak auras. I've tried but I just don't get it.
Actually saved my life
Great video, first time I am able to understand how addons works and how to use them. Hard noob here .. I got into wow to play with good friends (they played for years) and I wish i could be not so much of a burden :/

NOGS oh ! Ok great tool then ! Thx for the answer mate ❤️
Nogs do you mind maybe sharing your Elv profile with us? I like how you have everything set up. Thanks !
Since this Guide is for new Players you should check out the Addon "QE M+ Dungeon tips". It shows tactics for dungeonmobs in their tooltipps.
Downloading now, I'll have to check it out. Would be great for the first few weeks of bfa m+
Good video man, very informative. id like to try quartz and bigwigs after see this video
any chance you can upload your UI layout to wago? thx...
Can u tell me the addon that creates that tiny white circle at your mouse cursor in-game please? I need something like that
It's a weak aura string found in the following link :) wago.io/Hklr0dCdf
well done!
Very helpful ! Thank you so much !
How do get your cursor like that? Is it an addon or in the interface?
i have a question about hte first addon (great vid btw). Your UI looks different than mine and i don´t know how to moove the healthbar. Please help
Thanks Mr.Potato! in the shadow unit frames menu the first tab top left you need to un-check "lock frames" this will allow you to drag any frame units wherever you wish :)
thanks
Just a small thing (just in case)
you don't have to type the spell name after #showtooltip
you can just keep going normally and it will still show it
here's an example on the macro you have in 12:54
#showtooltip
/cast [@player] Angelic Feather
ooo nice! ty for that saves a bit of typing :)
Great video as usual!!
Does the interrupt WA work in raids also or just M+?
any updates/upgrades to this list in 8.1.5?
great video! very well done!
I should make an 8.2 guide as there's many more relevant addons being used now since 8.0 :D
can you show us your quartz setting?
