The fact that you found the solution through 'percussive diagnostics' (smack that dash!!) makes this even BETTER! I'm having the same issue and it has been driving me NUTS. Gonna check this solution with my car soon!
Please update and let us know If that was permanent fix. I've got an hhr (same delta platform) that does the same nonsense. It's intermittent. Comes and goes. I will try this. Thanks for video
its the trans wiring harness leaking flid on the connection it not just this trans ding it several other GM trans cause the same thing. Use brake clean. Pull it apart from the trans clean it out put it back together problem solved. Took awhile to figure it out but haven't had an issue since

I haven't had to mess with anything since I pushed all the connectors firmly into the plug. As far as I am concerned this is a permanent fix.
