Fantastic as always Chris. I was recently told by a fellow believer from my home group that I was far too serious and needed to lighten up. This is because I keep trying to warn them of how far we’ve fallen and how close to the end we are. I have a sense of profound urgency but to them I’m just over the top. It’s demoralising.
But the Lord told me to keep banging the drum, so that’s what I will do regardless.

We do desperately need men to rise up as an army. One problem we have in the physical is that testosterone levels in young men are half what they were when my dad was 20. Lots of reasons possibly. Planned/micro plastic s/tapwater/ oestrogen etc BUT GOD he can heal

Chris - 2 Thess 2: There are two different verses talking about restraining. Verse 6 uses the neuter - "You know the thing which is restraining". But Verse 7 uses the masculine: "there is one (masculine) restraining."
(Personally I would really like to see Christians properly understanding the whole of 2 Thessalonians because it is really important.)
Now this is my own feeling about the two verses mentioned above - and I may be wrong but probably not as wrong as some!
I think it likely that "the thing (neuter) restraining" may refer to Gen 11:6 "...(and this they begin to do): ...[long pause] ... (and now nothing will be restrained from them, which they have imagined to do.) God did not destroy Bable but He merely pressed the pause button. He is, I believe, beginning to lift His hand off the pause button. (observe what is happening across the globe!)
But as far as the One restraining (He - masculine) in verse 7: I do agree with those who say this is the Holy Spirit. An interesting thing I have noticed when comparing with Genes 6:3 "My spirit shall not always strive with man" is that although that Hebrew word "strive" is a completely and unrelated word to the Greek "restraining" in Thessalonians, that both words can be used to describe keeping a ship strongly on course.

This pastor is confused: Obededom who housed the ark of the covenant was NOT a Philistine of Gath: he was a LEVITE, the ones GOD ORDAINED to care for the Ark. ‘Gath’ / Gittite in this case referred to a Levite city called Gathrimmon. It took all of 5 seconds to check reliable, SCHOLARLY commentaries and cross-reference the Scriptures, to ascertain this fact. ALWAYS BE A BEREAN and DOUBLE CHECK what you’re being told. Read your Bibles and do YOUR research. It’s actually INSANE for a pastor to imagine that the HOLY ARK OF THE COVENANT would be entrusted to a Philistine who would be permitted to minister among the HOLY THINGS OF ISRAEL. I guess people didn’t remember or ever KNOW what happened to the Philistines when the ark of the covenant had been taken and they all suffered deaths and hemorrhoids (emerods) sores until they returned it to Israel! 1 Samuel 5! Good grief. People will believe anything.
Obededom the Gittite; which was close by, on one side of the place where they were; this man was a Levite, as appears from his being afterwards appointed to be doorkeeper for the ark, and to sing praise before it, and so a proper person to commit the care of it to, 1Ch 15:18; he is called a Gittite, either because he had sojourned in Gath some time, or rather because he was of Gathrimmon, a city of the Levites, Joshua 21:24. (John Gill commentary)
Obed-edom was a Levite of the family of Merari, being 1Ch 15:18-24; 1Ch 16:38 a son of Jeduthun, who was a Merarite. He was a porter, a player on the harp, and was one of the Levites especially designated to take part in the musical services on the occasion of bringing up the ark to Zion, and to minister before it when brought up. He is called a Gittite perhaps from Gath-Rimmon, in Manasseh, which belonged to the Kohathites Jos 21:25. Marriage with a Kohathite, or some other cause, would account for his dwelling in a Kohathite city. (Albert Barnes commentary)
