He averaged 2 points per game as a freshman and now only 7 as a Sophomore. It's easy to dominate when you are 6'2'' or above and bigger, stronger, and faster than everyone else but when you are forced to pick on people your own size in college that is when you are exposed to everyone. Don't judge someone's career based off of their high school mix tapes. But at least he got a scholarship out of it.
Except he wasn't bigger or stronger. He played against some of the best high school competition in southern California with back to back southern section titles. This kid can ball, he doesn't play much at Arizona because the team is stacked, especially at his position. He also played on Comptons AAU team so his competition was a lot tougher than you're giving him credit for
Since winning is always about numbers?? Agreed with previous 2 posts... he has a role and he fills it... that is what winners do.. just because he doesn't get as many minutes and possessions doesn't mean he is any kind of a bust. There are quite a few games this season he has helped seal a victory with a shot or free throws...
ray hanley I didn't mean to be that harsh. He's playing a good role on a good team but his "swagger" in this video comes off as arrogance like he's gonna be the next big thing
I so hope this guy gets at least a year in the NBA. Watched him on that documentary, he's killing it in the G League an only made $40k over the last two years. One of the best players on Earth an living in poverty. Still working his tail off. I'm a fan, I hope someone gives him a real shot.
Dude sure dresses the part, several colors of elbow protectors, unique kicks, high socks , knee guards, dude has it all. Guy has game too... why you hatin! put up your sizzle reel!
One thing i like about his game is that whatever move he does, he squares up pretty well with the basket....nice form, good follow thru, he can only get better and stronger once he get sto college and hits the weights...
why the fuck does it even matter. Its a kid working hard to reach his goal of being elite in the sport plays. Yes, blacks do have a little bit of an "Advantage" with genetically having fast twitch muscles but that means almost nothing. A white guy like me can excel in ball if he really wanted to, all you gotta do is put in work. I mean, Look at Goran Dragic he's 6'3 and white but he's an elite point guard at the most elite level.
Jacob Opatz A little bit huh? LOL. Have you ever looked at an nba team roster? It's 90% black or more. There are no rules in place, no good ole boy network, no racism to keep white players out of the league. White doods simply can't BALL. I don't mean play the game. I mean "BALL".
***** ROTFL! Dood keep it real. If you have any black in you at all you're labeled as black. Whites set that presidence not blacks. Obama is black. Ask him. Lol
Jacob Opatz I'll tyy to put this into context and make a comparison so maybe you will see the difference. The best white basketball player of all time in my opinion is Larry Bird. The best black basketball player in history is Michael Jordan. Do you see the difference? Now apply that on a broader scope among white and black basketball players
Gave York should be #1 pg in the nation, or at least top 10 overall but all these schools/recruit sites care about is height. Kyle Anderson is a 6'8 POINT GUARD and he's ranked number one pg. if he was at any other position he would be shut down. All I can say is gabe, keep doing your thing!
All you guys hating are foolish. This guy is a very complete looking guard. Superior altheltic ability, good size, nice stroke, quick handle, confident. I don't understand what you guys can possibly complain about.
yeah i saw this a while back and recently i found him on a d league roster.. nun bad but i always wondered where most of these players with these cold ass mixtapes ended up going. I know most that made it to see the draft but idk...
The funniest shit is when you get to watchin these types of videos, and you always see a comment like "Yea we had to play against these guys., and they fcked us up."... haha shit gets me everytime...
Appreciate the love. Im trying to do for it all the underdogs that werent givent the right chances and who had a wack coach who never game them a shot but had heart and determination. Like the comment above and if enough people want to see it i will post a 4:00 AM work out. Ball handling, increase speed quickness, and plyometrics, and some shooting.
"he's ready for NBA minutes right now" - How can you make that statement when he hasn't even played collegiate minutes? He's NOT ready for the NBA right now.
Kid can definitely ball, and get up in the air. The only issue is that it seems like he is playing against a bunch of JV teams. If he does this against his talent or above, then he has a good future.
It makes sense tho. Austin played with NBA players ever since he was born. So he felt ready prematurely, I don't think he's ready, preferably I would've wanted him to stay one more year in college. He's gonna struggle for a while in the NBA, but he'll find his spot. He brought it upon himself so he should face it with open minded-ness.
From watching this as a teenager 10 years ago, to seeing him hoop on the pacers. Inspirational
Look at Gabe York man, so inspirational.
I swear these 2010-2014 mixtapes just hit different nowadays
Remember watching these when I was in high school. Now he putting up numbers in the G League, time for an nba contract !
He just made his NBA debut tonight! I'll always root for Gabe. Hope he gets on a team for all of next year too.
He averaged 2 points per game as a freshman and now only 7 as a Sophomore. He plays a solid role for the number 1 team in the nation. I think his career is just fine
Except he wasn't bigger or stronger. He played against some of the best high school competition in southern California with back to back southern section titles. lilmoe102 he did pretty good this year. Next year he will be even better
ray hanley I didn't mean to be that harsh. He's playing a good role on a good team but his "swagger" in this video comes off as arrogance like he's gonna be the next big thing
At all costs brought me here

Still working his tail off.

That last dunk was freakin Legendary man!
I love how every move, dribble, or shot was on da beat!
I've balled with this dude many times at my gym and he's an extremely talented ball player!

Dude sure dresses the part, several colors of elbow protectors, unique kicks, high socks , knee guards, dude has it all.

But can he dunk?
Thanks man im going to do it for all the underdogs out there who are going against all odds.
It's always nice to see a white guy in one of these mix tapes
Still nice to see

Welcome to lakers summer league
he has a jump shot, handles, bounce and is tuff.... ARIZONA GONNA LOVE HIM AND NICK IN THE BACKCOURT
I bet his inspiration is Blake griffin
CJ Praxites why? They have no similarities at all
This kid has such a nice style to his dunks.

I Love Dunks, But It's Always Great Seeing A Shooter Go To Work, Gabe York Gets BUCKETS!

Time to shine....if hes ever going to.....Lakers Summer League....bring it!!!!
really hope he gets a spot on an nba roster.
this guy is off the charts
As a 15yr old 9th grader just learning to dunk, you really have NO idea how ridiculously hard these dunks are. #props.
I like that REBOUND putback slam he had in there...mixing it up with big men
That last Dunk was sick as hell!!!!
Anybody else here because of TBT???
I don't know what's more impressive that last dunk or the gingers fro at 4:00
No one on his team seems to rotate. They're just standing there watching Gabe do all the work.

He can't help the competition he is faced against, all he can do is completely dominate them
Even though he pushed homie down that last oop was vicious lol
yeah i saw this a while back and recently i found him on a d league roster.. nun bad but i always wondered where most of these players with these cold ass mixtapes ended up going. I know most that made it to see the draft but idk...
Can't shoot
It's York City Baby!!!
It’s time boys
How this kid didn't make the McDonalds All-American game and Jordan Brand Classic I'll never know. He is so fun to watch.
He's very good.
Why did you cut the footage @1:39? don't tell me his teammate missed a wide open lay-up lol
Hopefully he gets some pt next year so we can see what this kid got.
great good his speed has done him right
Gabe York and Nick Johnson. Its about to be a dunk show at Arizona.
For every view this gets, multiply X10 for the replay on that last dunk. Watched that over and over... mad hops
The funniest shit is when you get to watchin these types of videos, and you always see a comment like "Yea we had to play against these guys., and they fcked us up."... haha shit gets me everytime...
I totally agree. I did not see anyone he was playing against that looked like a basketball player.
dam that last dunk sick! i woulda been goin crazy if i was there haha
are these beats free to use for basketball mix tapes? i want to make a few for a team i'm coaching
hes got everything you want in a combo guard jheez
Gabe + Nick J. = explosive backcourt
do yall have any footage like that anyway
Appreciate the love. Im trying to do for it all the underdogs that werent givent the right chances and who had a wack coach who never game them a shot but had heart and determination. Like the comment above and if enough people want to see it i will post a 4:00 AM work out. Ball handling, increase speed quickness, and plyometrics, and some shooting.
LOL, hell yeah!! Beat is sick, and so is the mix.
Amazing!!!! I liked
An electrifying player and incredible athlete to say the least... Anyone else notice the double-dribble at 1:54 tho? Haha

I SEE YOU GABE YORK, I SEE YOU!
"he's ready for NBA minutes right now" - How can you make that statement when he hasn't even played collegiate minutes? He's NOT ready for the NBA right now.
hes got that step back shot on lock !
Kid can definitely ball, and get up in the air.
The only issue is that it seems like he is playing against a bunch of JV teams. If he does this against his talent or above, then he has a good future.
3:46 he blake griffin'd that boy HAHAHA
Finally GABE YORK!!
Damn if he stay at least 2 or 3 years in collage he will be scary in the nba
I saw Mater Dei and Foothill in there.. thats tough competiton
It makes sense tho. Austin played with NBA players ever since he was born. So he felt ready prematurely, I don't think he's ready, preferably I would've wanted him to stay one more year in college.
