      He just made his NBA debut tonight! I'll always root for Gabe. Hope he gets on a team for all of next year too.

    He averaged 2 points per game as a freshman and now only 7 as a Sophomore. It's easy to dominate when you are 6'2'' or above and bigger, stronger, and faster than everyone else but when you are forced to pick on people your own size in college that is when you are exposed to everyone. Don't judge someone's career based off of their high school mix tapes. But at least he got a scholarship out of it.

    • @PurplelinkPL
      @PurplelinkPL 11 ปีที่แล้ว +63

      He plays a solid role for the number 1 team in the nation. I think his career is just fine

    • @matthewmartin9324
      @matthewmartin9324 11 ปีที่แล้ว +56

      Except he wasn't bigger or stronger. He played against some of the best high school competition in southern California with back to back southern section titles. This kid can ball, he doesn't play much at Arizona because the team is stacked, especially at his position. He also played on Comptons AAU team so his competition was a lot tougher than you're giving him credit for

    • @glennmerrill8344
      @glennmerrill8344 11 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Since winning is always about numbers?? Agreed with previous 2 posts... he has a role and he fills it... that is what winners do.. just because he doesn't get as many minutes and possessions doesn't mean he is any kind of a bust. There are quite a few games this season he has helped seal a victory with a shot or free throws...

      lilmoe102 he did pretty good this year. Next year he will be even better

    • @lilmoe102
      @lilmoe102 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      ray hanley I didn't mean to be that harsh. He's playing a good role on a good team but his "swagger" in this video comes off as arrogance like he's gonna be the next big thing

    I so hope this guy gets at least a year in the NBA. Watched him on that documentary, he's killing it in the G League an only made $40k over the last two years. One of the best players on Earth an living in poverty.
    Still working his tail off.
    I'm a fan, I hope someone gives him a real shot.

    • @bropatz4247
      @bropatz4247 10 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      why the fuck does it even matter. Its a kid working hard to reach his goal of being elite in the sport plays. Yes, blacks do have a little bit of an "Advantage" with genetically having fast twitch muscles but that means almost nothing. A white guy like me can excel in ball if he really wanted to, all you gotta do is put in work. I mean, Look at Goran Dragic he's 6'3 and white but he's an elite point guard at the most elite level.

    • @GREGG.T
      @GREGG.T 10 ปีที่แล้ว

      Jacob Opatz A little bit huh? LOL. Have you ever looked at an nba team roster? It's 90% black or more. There are no rules in place, no good ole boy network, no racism to keep white players out of the league. White doods simply can't BALL. I don't mean play the game. I mean "BALL".

    • @GREGG.T
      @GREGG.T 10 ปีที่แล้ว

      ***** ROTFL! Dood keep it real. If you have any black in you at all you're labeled as black. Whites set that presidence not blacks. Obama is black. Ask him. Lol

    • @GREGG.T
      @GREGG.T 10 ปีที่แล้ว

      Jacob Opatz I'll tyy to put this into context and make a comparison so maybe you will see the difference. The best white basketball player of all time in my opinion is Larry Bird. The best black basketball player in history is Michael Jordan. Do you see the difference? Now apply that on a broader scope among white and black basketball players

    Gave York should be #1 pg in the nation, or at least top 10 overall but all these schools/recruit sites care about is height. Kyle Anderson is a 6'8 POINT GUARD and he's ranked number one pg. if he was at any other position he would be shut down. All I can say is gabe, keep doing your thing!

    It makes sense tho. Austin played with NBA players ever since he was born. So he felt ready prematurely, I don't think he's ready, preferably I would've wanted him to stay one more year in college. He's gonna struggle for a while in the NBA, but he'll find his spot. He brought it upon himself so he should face it with open minded-ness.
