There is no doubt that Ferguson's finishing plus Gilmour's passing was excellent. But the MOM for me is Van Hecke. He draws the press to the very edge and then gets the ball to Gilmour, giving Gilmour time to make the right decision. With Webster, it was noticeable that he put the ball on the ball before the opponent could get a bite. Van Hecke's confidence in his own footwork, coupled with his nerve, is a perfect match for Brighton's style of soccer.
Anyway, big congratulations from Japan, boys! You really deserve this win💙🇯🇵

I remember watching Van Hecke against Leicester last season when we drew 2 - 2 and I wasn't overly impressed with what he had to offer especially since he was at fault for the 2nd goal but since then he has been brilliant, De Zerbi must have given lots of confidence and as his game time continues he just gets better that man city game last season he was astonishing, playing against one of the greatest strikers in the PL and causing him difficulties is truly amazing and as time goes I do believe Van Hecke will be a brilliant player and against Newcastle he was amazing, although I do think he could have done better with their goal and potentially stopped it he still played brilliantly and for Van Hecke I think that he will achieve great things in the future considering he is so good and is only 22 yrs old.
You're just trying to be clever Ferguson showed touches apart from the goals all game long that I haven't seen since Zico he was unreal that's why he had loads of space for his second goal Dan burn didn't want to get embarrassed yet again by his sublime touches and his strength . I think you just want to be different try enjoying football like Ferguson does

Newcastle Fan and got to say. Fully deserved the win. Only one side in the game. We looked a level or 2 below yourselves buts that's on us . A lot of work to do over the next 5/6 games to give ourselves a top 4 hope could be out the question after the first 10 games. But how can anyone not enjoy how your club is doing at the moment selling top stars left right and centre but producing some of the best football in the league over the last two seasons and done so well before that. If we don't make the top 4 id love it if you beat a Liverpool or man utd to a spot there. Early days but hope to join you up there competing for it.

I had no idea Gilmour was playing for Brighton. There was a time I was disappointed when Chelsea had to sell him even though he won MOM for Chelsea twice. I was left stunned since I believed he was an emerging young player for Chelsea. I’m glad, he is happily playing for Brighton. Wishing the best for Brighton this season. And then the main striker who has a hat trick is Evan Ferguson.

When Brighton play like this it is hard to see any teams beating them.
It seems the only way to beat Brighton is to patiently suck up the pressure and then beat them on the counter attack - a la West Ham. Which also explains why Brighton often loose to 'lesser teams', as they often set up to 'not loose' rather than to win.
I guess/hope de Zerbi is looking into this weakness.
