How is there so much bitching on this thread about # of camera people and not covering Ricky??? Go back to a few years ago and see the production level we had and the lack of commentary. Everyone needs to take a few steps back and realize how fortunate we are to even have this shit filmed lol
What a tough set of courses for The Worlds. This is a test of the best of the best. Whadda ya got? Better have your scramble game polished. You'll need it... and a bit of luck.
has anyone tried a thumber on hole 12? jerm has a 400 foot thumber and that would be an extremely high percentage play rather than trying to hit that tiny gap and have the possibility of going 100 feet.
All praise to Jomez for the hard work! Is anyone else disappointed in the course selection? I feel like there's a distinct difference between obstacle trees and playing in the woods; to me these 2 courses fall closer to the latter. Just seems relying on too much luck to define a "world champion." Now if either JohnE or Ricky shoot a 10 under or better round the last two days then obviously I'm wrong and those guys know the routes. But these first two rounds were painful to watch... Oh, and sick awesome coverage as usual from Jomez!
As much as I love what CCDG and Jomez have done with the lead and chase cards, can it possibly be true that NOBODY had a spare camera and reasonably competent camera-person to follow Ricky? It seems like a travesty against the sport not to have any coverage of his -12 on that course, in those conditions.
Joseph Powers exactly. He's just dropping his other disc on top of his putter in the basket and grabbing them both. Some people are too fucking serious all the time.
The rulebook defines a throw as "the propulsion of a disc by a player that results in a new lie." That's not very helpful, but it also defines a practice throw as "A throw of more than two meters during a competitive round that does not change the lie." So I would say there's nothing wrong with it, but Jeremy apparently has a weird pet peeve about it.
No, the rules around "practice throws" are very commonly misunderstood. For a throw to count, it has to clearly be a "throw". It's a myth that things like dropping your disc or tossing an extra to the side/ back to your bag are counted as strokes. No such rules to penalize these sorts of things actually exist anywhere in the rules.
It's amazing that Simon stays somewhat competitive considering all the absolutely stupid shots he attempts. If he played just a bit more conventionally, he's win more events, I think.
@@satagaming9144 I'm laughing at these comments too. Like those complaining about chit chat commentary... that's partly why I like watching these jomez vids. Makes you feel like you're playing a round with the guys. Oh well I guess there will always be dg purists.
@@HyzerFlexOnYou I've never complained about jerms commentary but it was a little bit grating in this one. I felt like there was not a single moment of silence in the whole vid. Granted this was three years ago and hes better now, plus the natural chemistry with Nate and Paul helps a lot.
Come on, man. Who actually cares about tap ins like that? In my opinion if you're within 3 feet you should just be able to pick up your disc and move on to the next hole. I get that it's a courtesy/gentleman thing or whatever, but does it really matter in the grand scheme of things? People that get upset over the smallest little inconsequential things are the absolute worst.
I agree with Jerm, that is annoying. It's one thing to reach in with the putter in hand and grab the other similar to removing your putter while holding your mini; but, why let go of the first disc? It isn't significantly easier to grab them both together; and why make it so obvious? If you find it easier due to hand size or whatever, drop it within a couple of inches; especially to reduce the chance that it does something goofy and rolls away, costing you a stroke.
charles emrich I'm not saying that I'd try to penalize him for it; I'd only ever do that if another player gained a significant advantage, or intentionally broke a rule for an advantage. There just isn't a practical purpose for it, and other players might try to penalize him for it (it's risk for no reward). I'm GUESSING someone said something to him about it too, because he switched to grabbing while holding; then switched to only retrieving with an empty hand.
These ppl need to watch more vids on commentary. Sometimes it's nice to watch them play and not here about stupid shit. Non stop blah blah blah until they putt
I thought the opposite: nice to have a new style of commentary explanation. This is still a budding pro-sport in public media, so new-comers can learn from everything they say. Why follow PGA commentary standards when they are losing viewership like it's going out of style.
Bruh. You and CCDG are crushing it next level. Sincerely, thank you for all your hard work. You must not sleep. I am so thankful for all you do.
doesn't get any better than this, great coverage and commentary
Thank you very much Jomez! Shout out to Katka and Richard at 21:08
Thank you Jomez Production. Respect for all your work! disc on!
I freaking love Simon. He finds the most ridiculous routes and makes them work.
ricky always puts on amazing rounds that never get filmed
Good work guys!
I was there, it was lit 👌
I'm really surprised that the PDGA would have worlds at a course that is this raw. It's not done and manicured yet.
Alright Simon, you're right there, lets f***** go. WOOH!
If you slow down the video to half speed around 9:19 to 9:25 or so it's fairly entertaining.
That tracer effect on the replay is sweet.
Top commentary bois.
Did anyone ever try the dryer sheet in the hat trick? Solid way to repel nats.
7:00 Ayeeee 704 checking in

Seems like a good course for Big Jerm - equally strong back and fore. Did he play?

Follow up: I am wrong.
Hole 17 should be par 3 for world's

You do realize this isn't ESPN yet, right? The fact that we have this production level after what we had 3 years ago is amazing. Baby steps bro
Where's Sexton? Is he hurt?
zen babaloo wife is pregnant and due any day. he actually came to this round to watch paul play
Since Paul's pregnant with his child too this makes sense.
why do you hate that tap in so much?
Bigoleken Yup you missed the point of his comment. watch again at like 3:10 he putts twice. the tap in isnt his putt out.
Bigoleken Yup I agree. What is jerm so butt hurt about the tap in. That's not a practice throw.
Joseph Powers exactly. He's just dropping his other disc on top of his putter in the basket and grabbing them both. Some people are too fucking serious all the time.
Bigoleken Yup I know. He has no advantage by doing that, just cleaning up. I would NEVER call someone out for that. But that's how STL rolls.
He's joking around calm the f down lmao everyone has there own pet peeves lol
a link to Dave Feldberg describing how to throw the scumahawk:
th-cam.com/video/3sxw8ix0CYs/w-d-xo.html
Not trying to get Devon strokes on his card.....that second putt when he collects his other putter....isn't that technically a throw?
Ryan Hunt it sure is, add in the scoring error at the end of the round and that 4 strokes added.

There is no way that's an extra stroke. Once the disc goes in the basket, scoring stops.
sspitcher1513 Nope, you can still get penalized between holes for a practice throw.

Pizza and A.C lol
McBeth put on a few pounds
McRibs
LOL
Check his McBeast diaries out, always crap food and energy drinks. Horrible diet and he's not 22 anymore, it will catch up on you.
Id rather watch the 2nd card for the 3rd round to be honest, that looks like a more entertaining field to watch.
It's amazing that Simon stays somewhat competitive considering all the absolutely stupid shots he attempts.

maybe
Linear > Straddle
Do you guys plan to upload the videos without commentary? or at least something without jerm.
Do you mean "without Jerm"?
mtp9214 yes, without. thank you. I will edit the original post.
lmao this aged well, gotta say it

The irony of that comment was great! Lol.
Where's the irony?
Conner Williams you misunderstood the whole point. lol buddy.
yo big Germ dont ever call pauls shot selection a cheater route i havent seen you in a video in awhile budd

I still dont understand what the big deal is? the hole is over and done with. Who cares if he puts his entire bag on the chains to retrieve his disc.
Harry Ballzac what he said ^^
This course is absolutely horrible...
Jerm calling everybody out, a hyzer over the trees a "cheater" route, come on dude.

If you're going to have steve hill do commentary, give him like the GBO or kansas city wide open. Not worlds. COME ON MAN
