Oh my God... that is so creepy. If it were me I would've thought it was all in my head, but the fact that the dog heard it too means it can't have been some auditory hallucination. See I'm religious so I believe in God, but this is more that plus my personal beliefs that there probably are other dimensions or planes of existence where there are spiritual entities, and a lot of paranormal encounters include some sort of beings that can mimics voices. But your story gave me the chills... I love but hate hearing horror stories, I got so obsessed with creepy reddit stories about cryptid encounters, but the only thing that has ever happened to me that is apparently also common in paranormal encounters is when there is some malicious entity, you will get this unexplainable fear or dread out of nowhere where everything was fine before. That feeling happened to me some months ago, I was on my phone well past midnight, and I thought to myself I should really get some sleep. So I slept, and I was about to transition to deep sleep like I was 95% unconscious, but then suddenly there was this impending feeling of absolute dread that hit me. Like I was absolutely terrified of someone or something and it jolted awake, but there was nothing and no one there. But I could feel something, and it wasn't my gut *telling* me something wasn't right, it was practically screaming at me. To this day idk what it was but it creeped me out, and when I checked the time the clock had struck at exactly 3:00 am. It was nothing I heard or saw just *felt*, and sometimes I get the feeling that I'm being watched but that's where I just pray and try to fall asleep (nothing can get you under the covers that's a fact).
