The camera is excellent in low light (and I have a ZVE1) no need to go above 800 iso for 99% of street/ indoor at night). I set my iso to auto 0-800 bracket and have never changed it. I recently filmed a hotel review in Abu Dhabi with tons of nighttime footage and it looked fantastic. I find the footage looks better using 60fps and not using the night mode.
The main thing I wish the Pocket 3 did is record separate audio tracks if you select the backup option. If you have two mics, it would really be nice to have each one in a separate file. Other than that, it's a pretty sweet piece of kit.
Hey, good review. Do you think it´s good also for short filming of riding motorcycle? I need camera for both vlogging and sometimes riding. Do you think there could be a problem with focusing of camera at surrounding landscape during riding. I saw a review where they said that action camera is focusing on everything and pocket is focusing on one object. If pocket will be facing out of me maybe it will be focusing just at handlebars and the rest of view will be not focused?
To be honest with you, as a fellow rider my first concern would be the constant vibration damaging the gimbal. But I know plenty of riders who use it for rollers, and you can set the focus point manually before you start riding. Personally, I'd be nervous to use mine for this. I use an action cam on mine
I've watched several reviews on the camera. I'm in no way being a critic here, but when on the plane wouldn't you have had better audio with the wireless mic in your hand or attached to the neck of your shirt? I just received my Osmo and I'm "still trying" to learn how to set it up with my I-phone etc. and from what I've watched so far it doesn't seem to slow down getting ready to shoot. A number of channels I've watched stress good audio, even over picture quality, so like I said, this is all new to me so I'm just learning and asking:-) Thanx for any feedback, -Keith .
Hey Keith, absolutely. You're 100% correct. I would have had much better audio on the plane had I used the wireless mic. I wanted to give everyone a real raw experience, especially since the base package doesn't come with it. And in many areas the on-camera mic performed well, on the plane not so much so I felt like it was worth showing that for contrast.
Only settings I changed was exposure EV set to -.3 and 50-400 ISO limited. I did minor color grading to the a-roll shots you see me talking in, but the rest I didn't color grade or anything to give a true idea of what to expect.
Nice video. I’m surprised to see a creator using a Samsung phone. I still want a P3 but have yet to shell out the $700 for the creator combo. Are you getting the S25U?
I mentioned this at the end but everything was in auto except exposure, which was in manual auto (-.3EV 50-400ISO). Color grading was only applied to my talking head clips, not b-roll.
I did adjust the EV for the video, I actually mentioned it at the end. Either way, when you're in a dark environment like a plane, you have to expose for your subject and shooting directly into a window will cause it to wash out which is why I demonstrated both angles. I do agree, sensor is great for this at it's size.
Every shot looks like it's taken from bigger cameras. Quality is perfect especially if your vlogging. Easy to handle and store + good quality is a big win. Only point where it can't catch up to bigger cams would be the audio.
There are definitely a couple shots where I can easily tell, but then other areas where it stuns me. Truly a versatile tool. I think it does great for audio, even on-camera, since most other camera setups have a dedicated mic.
Ryan, I'm from Brazil. Your video showed up for me through TH-cam's new automatic dubbing feature. I really liked the video! I've been wanting to buy the Osmo for some time, but here in Brazil, it's so expensive-9,000 reais, considering the minimum wage is 1,400 reais. 😭 It would be so great for me if you could donate the Osmo to me. Please help me!
I love how far we’ve come with technology Puts up comparison footage that most people won’t notice “It takes a while to transfer to your phone” it takes 20 seconds 😂
People like myself who do this daily, as a career, with years of experience, *will* in fact notice. And you clearly haven't tried transferring a longer video.
@@thespenceryan nope I haven’t Mr years of experience, but I counter with the people watching I’m 89% sure don’t care about minutiae of detail. And yea I have transferred large files, you know what, I don’t let little things like that bother me because we live in a wonderful age with all these cool things, so what if it takes 20 seconds to start up and transfer. Dont get so tilted 😂
@@El-ahrairah-lc3tg the fact that a) you just admitted you aren’t qualified to speak on this and b) are critiquing me for being thorough in my review for everyone, tells me everything I need to know.
@ to clarify I was making a comment about wishing this little modern marvel connected to this other modern marvel [a supercomputer in our pockets] quicker than 20 seconds, which is ridiculous fast if you think about all the little different connections being made at one time. My greater comment is maybe we don’t need to move so fast and all just chill a little, we all want quicker and quicker gratification when things are pretty dope if you stop to think about it. Anyways no animosity have a great rest of your day 🤙🏽
Great well-balanced review. I'm sold. Ordered mine just got it today looking forward to using it.
Enjoy! Take the time to play around with it and find out the settings that work well for you.
Perfect timing! I was just about to buy one
Hope this helps with your decision bro!
Wow! I appreciate this video so much because it did an offer real world scenario use of this camera. Nice!
Thank you! I did my best to show the *real* side of it!
Your review of this product is the best on youtube I've viewed by far. Thanks for the honest feedback on this product.
Thank you, I appreciate that!

Thanks for all the helpful info. Hopefully, no one puts this camera in their pocket without a case.
haha I've done it in a pinch when the camera is off as the gimbal is disengaged, but yes in theory it's better in the case
Loved seeing how you used it bro! Hope we meet up soon 🤝
Same bro, really looking forward to the day 🤝
Im filming myself should i get this or the cannon eos r8 ? Im going to be moving around a lot !

The transfer from the pocket 3 to your phone was my question . So i am happy you mention how easy it is .👍👍👍
Yeah a lot of people have been wondering about that. Glad it was helpful!
Great video and cannot agree more with your review. Love this tool
Appreciate the love! 🤝

Hello spencer watching all the way from Philippines. Is this straight from the pocket 3 .or did you change the settings.

Haha I have the S25U. I went to Samsung Unpacked. I use my Galaxy side by side with my iPhone daily.

if your pprob is bout the light bein washed out .. adjust the EV to compensate. for a camera that small 1" sensor size is already good.
