The Match Game isn't quite up to speed yet. The audience hasn't learned to say, "How hot was it?" Almost all the pieces are in place, tho, the panelist regulars and the long slender microphone. Just a little bit more maturing and the game will be at full speed.
Oh, I don't know. Meatball is a pretty good answer. What I can't figure out is the "hamburger" and "hotdog" answers. Granted, the 70s were different, but nobody I knew ever put spaghetti sauce on hamburgers and hotdogs. Maybe it was a California thing.
Free spirit flying. ;0) ROFL! Another fine after dinner episode! ;0) ROFL! Love ya Gene! ;0) ROFL! Love ya Charles! ;0) ROFL! Love ya Marcia! ;0) Texan!
He's a comedian I think he's funnier than Richard n I'd call on the one that won me the 500 instead alot of them screwed them over n said I'll take Richard he was wrong more than right
@@GizmoFromPizmoHe's an acquired taste. He takes a lot of time with his answers and goes off on tangents. He is intelligent and has been on every game show every but he is a little overbearing.
Just wondered if I missed something -- the end of last ep Orson had made a joke that could have been an answer and Gene threw the question out and they were going to do another question. What happened??
He made a joke about asking directions and that could have been an answer to the question. I'm sorry but I did not like how he acted. I guess he needed attention. I think he was jealous of Richard Dawson.
@@deboragustin9980 I agree. Dawson was the undisputed star of the panelists and that grated on all of them at one point or another. It seems to me that Orson Bean's style of humor depended on being a raconteur -- he had to be the center of attention for more than 30 seconds to tell a story. Dawson was a better match for the format because his wit was much more rapid-fire. Most of the time, he could start and finish a joke in under 10 seconds.
Is this the one where Marcia Wallace famously said GENITALIA in response to question about where the king hung his keys? Is it strange they just had her write out a new non-matching answer rather than scrapping the whole question? Idk, but she seemed a bit shame-faced and the contestants "surprised" reaction to the outcome wasn't really very well acted.
Meredith MacRae was SO BEAUTIFUL!!
She was a Beauty, so sad she died young
Meredith MacRae was beautiful with a back seat sexiness in her persona .
18:03 "when there is a vacancy on the floor below...."
Panelists:
1. Orson Bean
2. Brett Somers
3. Charles Nelson Reilly
4. Meredith McRay
5. Richard Dawson
6. Marcia Wallace
Brett is being a pain right from the beginning.
It was kind of her thing. It never bothered me though.
On this day in 1958, The Game show Dough Rei Mi with host Gene Rayburn aired it's first episode.
Would someone please tell Richard that the magic marker is not a cigar. He so much wants to emulate Groucho. And lose the neck tie act!
Julie Roach did just as well on “Family Feud” as well as “Match Game.”

4:12 -- I'M JEALOUS! 😁
Blood donor!
Not even one pizza for the tomato sauce question? Geez Louise
Scorchio 😊
Because she was a blood donor🤣
Today the answer would've been pizza across the board!

A hamburger pizza back down tasted a lot different than it does now.
Bottle of ketchup? Omg….lol

Judges were drunk this match
I've had just about enough out of Orson.
He's been terrible. I'm surprised they ever had him back again.

They simply started that round again at the beginning of this episode..

If it was that episode, it makes sense for them to just have her write a new "wrong" answer rather than waste time taping a whole new question.
Match Game pm. Episode 91.
